This man bought the Ferrari that Michael B. Jordan crashed back in December 2023 in Los Angeles. He is now trying to figure out why the shop that bought it a month after the crash decided to sell it just two months later instead of fixing it.
Michael B. Jordan made headlines at the beginning of December 2023 when he crashed his Ferrari 812 Superfast while reportedly street-racing another Ferrari, a 488, on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. It was 11:30 PM when he lost control, his Ferrari started tailfishing and slammed into a Kia Niro parked on the side of the road.

The actor, who starred in the "Creed" franchise and box office hit "Black Panther," walked away unharmed that night. But his Ferrari 812 Superfast was in pieces, and the insurance company decided it was a write-off. The Kia was also seriously damaged.

At the end of January 2024, the supercar was listed for sale by the insurance company in as-is condition. Before the accident, it was evaluated at $567,001. But with only three wheels and serious damage on the right side, the Ferrari is not worth half of that.

James Condon, who is the owner of TheStradman YouTube channel, says his friend, Gordon, aka Effspot, happened to be at the scene of the crash that night, and he instantly sent him a message on WhatsApp. James decided he just had to have that car.

The Ferrari was bought a month after the crash and then sold again

The supercar was first listed in January on Copart, but James was not eligible to bid. However, two months later, the 812 Superfast popped up for sale on eBay with a 'Buy it now' of $198,999, which was around a third of the before-accident value. James eventually bought it at $187,000. He had to buy a trailer before heading to Sacramento, California, on a 10-hour journey, to get his new/old crashed Ferrari.

He found the Ferrari in a storage building, alongside many other cars, but was surprised to see it did not look as bad as he thought it would. The wheel on the front passenger's side was attached back into place, and the car fired up instantly.

But it still needs to go up on the trailer. The window on the passenger's side was shattered in the crash, the car lacks the entire front fender after the collision with the Kia, and the windshield is broken, too. The team at the salvage yard helps him wrap the Ferrari in plastic to avoid rain or anything else going inside the cabin.

The car needs a new bumper and a front fender, a windshield and a front side mirror. The passenger's door is fixable. But the driver's front airbag was deployed, so James has to figure out a solution for that, too.

He absolutely loves the interior. It's all carbon fiber and red leather. Michael B. Jordan really specced this car the right way.

Once he gets the Ferrari into the service shop, he starts discovering issues. The shop he bought it from attached the right front wheel back in its place after it came off and rolled down Sunset Boulevard after the crash. They also powder-coated it, but it is not the exact same gold shade as the other three wheels.

He's got not one, but three airbags to replace, while the right side headlight has a crack in it. He is sure that the shop in Sacramento must have found something that made them change their minds and resell the Ferrari two months after they bought it and were planning to fix it. Lifting the car up in the air is probably going to show the truth.

Either way, James got himself an almost-new, front-engined Ferrari. The 6.5-liter V12 pumps out 819 horsepower (830 metric horsepower) and 530 pound-feet (718 Newton meters) of torque sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

These propel the 812 Superfast from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph (340 kph). It seemed too much for Michael B. Jordan that December night in Los Angeles.

Marcus Rashford's Rolls-Royce Wraith, probably not such a great purchase idea

Marcus Rashford's Rolls-Royce Wraith, crashed on a rainy night in Manchester, was also purchased by an exotic car repair expert last month. But he has yet to find out if it was a good idea or not.

On the day he wanted to take it home, he spent hours trying to figure out how to start the engine. He eventually managed to do it, switched it off, and could not switch it on back again.

However, he got himself a Rolls-Royce Wraith tuned by Mansory, with a pre-crash value of approximately 700,000 pounds ($881,650), and only paid 185,000 pounds ($233,105) to take it home. But it looks like getting it back on the road is going to be anything but cheap.
