The East Coast is one of the most balanced tiny house designs on the market. On the one hand, it's perfectly minimalistic, with no clutter and unnecessary additions; on the other hand, its smart layout covers all the main functions of a conventional house. Together with modern appliances, and clever design hacks, this creates a house on wheels that truly feels like home.
"East Coast" is the name of a beautifully-designed home on wheels by Simply Living Stattonrock. The name goes well with this model's remarkable brightness, luminosity, and relaxing vibe. It would be perfectly suited to function as a vacation rental. At the same time, it was designed for long-term living, family comfort, and energy efficiency.

Ideal for a couple or a family of four, the East Coast combines a medium size (26 feet/7.9 meters in length and 8.6 feet/2.6 meters in height) with a modern open-space layout that makes the interior feel even more spacious. Even from the outside, you can immediately notice a large number of different-sized windows, one of the key features of this friendly home. Like most small spaces, it gains a lot by opening up to the outdoors and allowing natural light to flood it for most of the day.

The glass entry door leads straight to the living room. This area is smaller compared to other tiny house layouts but highly luminous and airy thanks to the large windows all around. Future owners are free to decorate this space to their liking, opting for either a classic setup with a sofa and a coffee table or a more informal, bohemian-style decor with beanbag chairs and floor pillows. Those who want to create an additional sleeping area can fit in a large L-shaped sofa that converts to a bed.

With the East Coast tiny, it's all about fluidity and versatility. The living area can function as a socializing and relaxation room during the day and become a secondary bedroom at night. A similar principle was used for the discrete dining nook in the kitchen.

A simple wooden flip-up table works as a great breakfast bar for everyone in the house, also doubling as a practical desk when needed. It's strategically placed in front of another large window, making it luminous enough for work and pleasant enough for enjoying meals with a view.

The East Coast's designers even managed to squeeze in a tiny cabinet with open shelves between the entry door and the flip-up table. It works great as a hallway piece of furniture connecting the living area with the home office/dining nook. Just like windows, shelves are another key element in the East Coast's design. We know that storage is essential when it comes to long-term living, and it can become a challenge with the specific size limitations of tiny homes.

The Simply Living Stattonrock team took advantage of every corner available to add a few more shelves. You'll notice that the kitchen doesn't just boast a beautiful, large countertop but also numerous cabinets and drawers underneath. The generous wall space was also used to add overhead cabinets and long open shelves that matched the wooden flip-up table.

The skillfully-crafted furniture integrates all the basic appliances, including a full-size fridge and a washer-dryer unit. The kitchen feels a lot bigger than what you'd typically find in a tiny house this size, and that's also because a simple ladder was used instead of a bulky staircase. This created more room to add functional features, like the versatile flip-up table, and to add storage solutions that don't create clutter.

Even the bathroom design focuses on storage. Although minimalistic, the East Coast's bathroom incorporates a large vanity with multiple drawers, a full-size shower, and a conventional toilet. Even the mirror features integrated tiny shelves. The beautiful all-white shiplap walls and a decent-sized window add luminosity to this part of the house as well.

The fixed ladder with a safety railing leads to one of the best spots inside the East Coast – an oversized loft bedroom. There's plenty of space for a huge mattress to raise the comfort level.

Thanks to the double windows and beautiful skylight, this loft area can be enjoyed as a perfect relaxation spot during the day – it's filled with natural light. In the evening, the discrete recessed lighting creates a cozy, intimate atmosphere. The only downside might be a lack of privacy - this loft bedroom doesn't come with a solid protection wall.

Overall, the East Coast tiny feels much bigger than its total surface of 254 square feet (23.5 square meters). Pricing starts at C$154,999 ($117,000), similar to the West Coast design from the same brand.

This Canadian builder also offers more compact models, meant for a single person, starting at half the price of the East Coast tiny, as well as luxury versions. Among them, the East Coast is perfectly balanced, minimalistic yet highly functional, versatile, and suitable for the needs of a family.
