Is the V50 T5 boxy enough to represent the Sleeper Volvo Wagon breed? Well, aficionados tend to think of older models of the Swedish carmaker when this notion is brought under the spotlights, but the V50 sitting before is determined to change that.
In case this silver family machine seems familiar, that's because we've seen the vehicle giving supercars a hard time in the past. This time around, though, the V has decided to take on a McLaren 600LT.

Sure, the 600 Longtail isn't quite as quick as its big brother, the 720S, which is nothing short of a drag racing sensation. However, the LT model will still cover the quarter-mile sprint in 10.4 seconds, which, for instance, places it in the same league as the Lamborghini Huracan.

The engine compartment of this wagon still houses its T5 motor, but the turbocharged straight-five now packs more than twice the factory output, with its newfound muscle number sitting at about 550 ponies.

And it takes a trained eye to spot the performance clues of the station wagon - while the body has been left untouched (there is one easter egg for you on the front wings, though), the exhaust tips, wheels and brakes are hints towards the sprinting nature of the machine.

The V5 T5 and the 600LT got together during a one-kilometer race, with the maximum velocity developed during the run determining the winner. As such, it's unclear if the driver of the 600 hp Macca gave the "poor Volvo" a head start or simply didn't care about the lights.

Speaking of the aficioando wielding the 600 Longtail, he was keen to put the track special to straight-line work, which is why he also raced a heavily modded F80 BMW M3 (this also qualifies as a sleeper) and a 9ff Porsche 911 Turbo.  Thankfully, the video showcasing the race includes the Vmax numbers of the beasts.
