This used to be a Ford Taurus. But that was probably in some past life that it has no memory of. Now it is called the Tamaro because it mixes elements of a Camaro with the old Taurus design. The owner did all the mods by himself and now claims that this is probably one of the most famous cars in the world. Well... we beg to differ!
The internet is one strange place. It connects people, informs them, infuriates and entertains them, and sometimes… it simply bewilders them just when they think that nothing can shock them online anymore. And then comes the Ford Tamaro. No, don't search for it in any car database. You won't find it there. It is one crazy mashup made up of a 1991 Ford Taurus that received a Camaro bodywork.

The owner bought the light blue 1991 Ford Taurus in November 2001 for just $500. Someone was in bad need of getting rid of it. He moved to Las Vegas eight years later but only took his brand-new Camaro SS/RS with him and left the Taurus at his parents’ warehouse for five whole years. But then he wanted a car that he would take to Cars & Coffee events and turn heads. His Camaro wasn’t fit for the job as he’d expect from the muscle car.

So, he made a muscle car himself. The conversion project started about a decade ago. Why would anyone do such a thing, you may ask. "For fun! No other reason!" he explains. But the "no other reason" part cost him around $6,000. Which is more than what he is asking for the car right now. He should probably ask for moral damages as well, since he did all the mods by himself.

"One of the most famous cars," owner says. Is it really?

He started with the Taurus, which was in a really bad condition, to say the least. Now, he claims that it is possibly "one of the most famous cars you will ever have a chance to buy."

The last time we checked, it did not star in Gone in 60 Seconds, it did not belong to Elvis Presley, and it is not exactly the DeLorean from Back to the Future. So "famous" doesn't even come close. But "strange" does. And turning heads in traffic is not synonymous with celebrity, that's for sure.

The model, painted in sparkling red and black, wears a front end from a Chevy Camaro, which includes a radiator grille, headlights, and bumper. A Dodge Charger SRT8 donated the rear spoiler, while the side mirrors are also from a Camaro. Chevrolet Corvette exhaust tips showed up at the rear.

If you think it is already too much, oh, wait and see, because there is more where those came from! The Tamaro sports a custom-made Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe-inspired interior. Or at least, that is what the owner claims. Hard to spot the differences between this contraption and the Rolls-Royce. Similarities, sorry!

But there is so much wood in there that probably a whole forest went into it. It is on the door panels, on the dashboard, and what seems to be a strange armrest. The one who owns the car says he used 14 yards of black suede to wrap the interior of his good old Ford.

The presence of some bling-bling and an aftermarket stereo round up the cabin. A cabin that is affected by the usual wear and tear of a car that has rolled off the assembly line in 1991. That was 32 years ago. And the owner says he drives it weekly, so it isn't exactly a garage queen.

The car is for sale on Facebook Marketplace

The model is now in search of a new home and is listed on Facebook Marketplace for $4,999. It remains to be seen who would pay money to drive home a Ford that is not a Ford, a Dodge that is not a Dodge, and a Chevrolet Camaro that is a… Tamaro. But the photos in the gallery show the car against some jaw-dropping thunders, but we can't tell how much of those photos is real and how much is photoshopped.

There is a V6 under the hood that delivered 140 horsepower over three decades ago. We are not sure how much of that output it lost along the way, but the owner says it still has it. The engine starts instantly and the transmission shifts like new, the listing claims.

"Ice cold AC" is also on the menu. The cruise control is still functional.

The ending of the listing is somewhat funny: "Make your best reasonable offer, depending on the price is how much of the stereo comes with it." So, if you offer less than what he asks for, you might end up driving home with only half of the system.
