Long before Lamborghini dared to dream about launching a plug-in hybrid supercar, other exotic car brands had already tapped into this segment. One of them was Koenigsegg, and the model in question was called the Regera.
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015 and put into production the following year, the Koenigsegg Regera is a true hypercar that mixes a 5.0-liter V8 with twin turbocharging and three electric motors.

Cooperating with an 800-volt system, the powertrain produces over 1,500 ps (1,479 hp/1,103 kW) combined and more than 2,000 Nm (1,475 lb-ft) of torque. There is a but here, as you will have to fill the tank with E85 to achieve these numbers. The 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) is obviously a sub-three-second affair.

If you forgot, the Koenigsegg Regera set a new 0-400-0 kph (0-249-0 mph) record earlier this year, completing the run in 28.81 seconds and beating the 29.94 seconds set by the Rimac Nevera. That's much more impressive, considering that the Regera hasn't been in production since 2022.

Only 85 copies of this magnificent machine saw the light of day in the six-year production run, and we just found one that is for sale. It lives in the United Arab Emirates, is a 2022 model, and does not reveal its mileage.

Nevertheless, it is clear that we are dealing with an almost-new car that looks fabulous inside and out. It mixes a white paint finish with a few black accents on the outside and has a matching cabin that combines fine leather upholstery with diamond quilting in the same hues. It has a generous amount of carbon fiber, white stitching, and chrome trim and looks ready to hit the open road with its new owner holding that fine steering wheel.

You do know that anything that falls in the hypercar category costs more than an arm and a leg, right? The same goes for this Koenigsegg Regera, which commands as much as a barely-driven Bugatti Chiron. Advertised by Karabakh Motors, the ultra-powerful Swedish machine has an AED 13,800,000 price tag attached to it. That equals $3,756,581 at today's exchange rates, and you could buy no fewer than five brand-new Lamborghini Revuelto supercars for that kind of money.

You could also buy three Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 trucks for a similar amount, as many Lexus LFAs and four Ferrari SF90s. As cool as owning a Regera may sound, we think that kind of money could quench every petrolhead's thirst for power for the rest of their lives. Therefore, this one would probably get a modern-day Mercedes-AMG G 63, an almost new Lamborghini Huracan, and something comfy and luxurious with four doors to use on a daily basis, preferably with Bentley or Rolls-Royce badges on it.
