Given all the hype surrounding the S650 seventh-generation Ford Mustang, one would feel entitled to believe that all Blue Oval fans can think of are pony and muscle car adventures. However, the second-largest US automaker might have a different opinion regarding such ventures.
In fact, if you are a European fan of the newly announced MEB-based Ford Explorer EV, one would already know that the Blue Oval's corner office-based head honchos felt like the right thing to do was to promote the 21st-century all-electric SUV in association with Harrison Ford and his final outing as Indy in the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny summer blockbuster. It seems forced and awkward to us since the action takes place at the height of the Cold War and the original Space Race.

As such, maybe we are better off returning to Ford's affairs in America, where even aftermarket outlets eagerly await the S650 to arrive across nationwide dealerships. Alas, even here, we can do some adventurous exploring alongside Blue Oval's more traditional U625 sixth-generation depiction of the mid-size crossover SUV, aka the 2024 Ford Explorer. That's because, according to the rumor mill, the second-largest US automaker is diligently preparing for the mid-life cycle facelift along with the upcoming EV derivative.

Some will most definitely prepare one for the other, and we have a feeling that we have come across a clear case of obvious favoring, even in the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. As such, meet Nikita Chuicko, the virtual artist better known as kelsonik on social media, who thinks now is the right CGI time to (again) fiddle with the Explorer SUV – again in a definitive ICE-powered form. Initially, the pixel master decided the incoming Ford Explorer needed an entirely new front fascia, not just the usual nip and tuck that's accustomed from OEM refreshes.

And thus, the CGI mashed the big crossover SUV with the aforementioned seventh iteration of the Mustang pony car – the GT version, to be more precise. Naturally, this simple swap made the CUV a lot more enticing for everyone, including fans who would love to see the SUV gain a small-block 5.0-liter V8 all over again. Now, though, there's a second and third interpretation of the Mustang Explorer idea, triggered mainly by the fans asking for the SUV with a Ford logo instead of the trademark pony from the Mustang.

Well, he quickly obliged with the traditional Blue Oval badge. But then he also opened the door to Raptor dreams because the second version features the big lettering treatment seen on the Bronco, Ranger, and F-150 Raptors. Now, there's just a question lingering around – do we dare to imagine this as an Explorer Raptor R with a street-savvy big aftermarket wheel atmosphere and the supercharged V8 mill lurking behind the radiator grille?
