The Ford F-150 Raptor R is a beast as it is. It is Ford's most potent truck. But it seems that not everyone can have a love affair with the Raptor R. It seems that someone actually hated it since day one and wanted to get rid of it with little over 250 miles on the clock.
One man's trash is another man's treasure. This Ford F-150 Raptor R seems just that. While someone is trying to get rid of it, millions are dreaming of it. And they have every reason to. It is powerful and looks as if it eats crossovers for breakfast.

When it rolls off the production line in Dearborn, Michigan, the R-badged pickup is powered by the almighty 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that pumps out 720 horsepower (730 metric horsepower) and 640 pound-feet (868 Newton meters) of torque, all steered to both axles.

That makes it more potent than its number one contender, the Ram 1500 TRX, which stopped at 702 horsepower. The gap between the two is also visible at the drag strip, where the Raptor R outruns the TRX most of the times. Ram is working on the RHO version. But instead of dialing it up to enough oomph to outperform the Ford, the automaker refers to some 500 horsepower. That is because Ram said goodbye to the V8, replacing it with a 3.0-liter inline-six.

Do you remember the moment the F-150 Raptor hit the market 14 years ago? The truck used to brag about 310 horsepower (314 metric horsepower) coming out of a 5.4-liter V8 or 411 horsepower (417 metric horsepower) produced by a 6.2-liter V8, mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission with paddles shifters mounted on the steering column and Raptor-specific lock differentials.

You really don't want to see this Ford F-150 Raptor R in your rearview mirror

But those figures are long gone, and the F-150 Raptor R of today goes for approximately double what it did back then. Which is apparently either not enough or too much for the one who bought it and is selling it already in "almost new" condition, packed up with that sinister attitude that is the last thing you would want to see in your rearview mirror on the highway.

The vehicle is finished in Carbonized Grey over a Black Recaro interior, which is, according to the listing, “fully loaded." It sports the head-turning Raptor badges, plus the Raptor front and rear bumper, both more aggressively designed than those of the stock F-150. Massive tow hooks at the front are there to save you when you are in an off-road predicament.

The almighty F-150 is equipped with skid plates, while at the back, a dual exhaust churns out all the drama of the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 Predator engine. There is a hood scoop in the company of hood graphics in red and gray, matching those on the front fenders.

Meanwhile, the rear fenders come with the same strips in gray, partially covered by a big scary R in red strips. The badging also shows up on the tailgate, where there is a step to help the future owner climb in the load bed when necessary.

There is black leather with red stitching on board

Electric running boards make ingress and egress easier. There are the Recaro seats in black leather and Alcantara, with contrasting red stitching. The front seats are also heated and cooled. The future owner will be able to control most of the functions of the car through the 12-inch touchscreen. A head-up display, a heated steering, and a 360-degree camera are all on board, and so is the Bang & Olufsen Unleashed sound system with 14 speakers.

The one who ordered it last year and had it delivered this year also checked the box for the optional panoramic moonroof.

This pickup truck really sounds like a vehicle for everyone. It is equipped with the Trailer Assist for those who want to leave the urban jungle behind and live off-grid, but also with the Mobile Office Package for those who want to turn the Raptor R into a work space.

The Ford F-150 Raptor R rides on 17-inch forged aluminum Beadlock wheels, wrapped in massive 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires.

With only 253 miles (407 kilometers) on the clock, the brand-new Ford F-150 Raptor R is now being sold by Vanguard Motor Sales for $159,900. That is not quite pocket change, considering that the stock Ford F-150 Raptor R starts at $115,550. But checking a few option boxes does that: makes the price skyrocket with a few clicks here and there.

The Vanguard team took the F-150 Raptor R for a spin to show everyone what it can do. And once the engine starts, it sounds like thunder. That is synonymous to the head-turning effect guaranteed.

Before you go ahead and buy it, you must know that, on a cruise ride, the truck is as smooth as silk. But if you want to turn it into a ferocious beast, all you have to do is push that pedal to the metal. Buckle up first, though! And pay attention to the speed limit, too! They are the same for you even when you're driving a predator which is hungry for speed!
