A new era of super truck has begun, says Fox Factory. And they have a reason for it. The 2024 Silverado Fox Factory Edition has come to fill the void in Chevy's lineup. Now, there is one ferocious brute that can take on the Ford F-150 Raptor R and the replacement of the Ram 1500 TRX, the RHO.
Fox Factory wasn't going to just sit and wait forever until Chevrolet built a competitor for the Ford F-150 Raptor R. They started working on their own. What came out of their hands is the Silverado Fox Factory Edition.

If Fox Factory sounds familiar, you're right. It has been supplying dampers for the Raptor for ages, but also for custom Silverados. This is exactly why this particular Silverado wears the Fox-badged top-of-the-line dampers, the electronically controlled semi-active 3.2 Live Valve Internal Bypass coil-over units.

The dampers permanently adjust the compression and rebound in real time depending on the steering angle and brake and throttle positions. Furthermore, a toggle switch in the dashboard allows the driver to choose one of the several damping programs.

The Brenthel Industries suspension, which extends travel by 15 inches front and rear, is also on the menu, as Fox Factory ditched the rear leaf spring suspension for this long-travel multilink setup. The new suspension and the huge 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, wrapped around 17-inch Method Race forged wheels, extended the vehicle by 7.5 inches in width to a total of 88.5 inches.

The Fox experts could just not keep their hands away from the engine bay. They came up with a twin-screw Whipple Gen V 3.0-liter supercharger and a high-capacity billet aluminum air-to-water intercooler for some extra oomph.

Now, the Silverado's 6.2-liter V8 L87 pumps out 700 horsepower instead of the standard 420. The stock ten-speed automatic and the two-speed transfer case deliver the output to all four corners.

A stainless steel Borla cat-back exhaust lets out all the drama of the L87. RCV CVs on the front axle, a full-width semi-float Dana 60 axle with a 3.73 gear set, and an ARB Air Locker locking differential are also part of the plan.

The Chevy Silverado also got looks to match all these enhancements, making it look like a bully on and off the road. Custom steel bumpers showed up at the front and rear ends. There are also skid plates and an additional lighting system. To keep the weight under control, Fox Factory installed a carbon fiber hood and flared fenders.

Fox saved some carbon fiber for the interior as well, where they also came up with Alcantara. Each of the Chevy Silverado Fox Factory Edition examples will feature a dashboard plate showing it is a special vehicle.

Fox Factory shows the truck in a three-minute video. It blasts through the desert at high speed while raising a massive cloud of dust before getting back to the city streets.

The firm has already opened order books. Whoever wants to drive home this limited-run Silverado must know that the starting price is estimated at $209,999, while reserving the vehicle will set you back $20,000. Meanwhile, the Ford F-150 Raptor R starts at $112,895, which is almost $100,000 less than the Chevy Silverado Fox Factory Edition.

Just 500 examples will see the light of day. All of them will be subject to a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
