Last year, out of the top 25 best-selling cars, CUVs, SUVs, and trucks, the first three places on the podium were occupied in the most traditional order by the Ford F-Series, Chevrolet Silverado, and Ram pickups, followed by the Toyota RAV4 and Tesla's Model Y.
However, the situation is a bit different after the first three months of 2024 because the Q1 sales tally indicates that Ford was able to keep its crown despite a 10% slump because Chevy only marginally grew Silverado sales by 2.4%. Meanwhile, Toyota's RAV4 jumped into third place with a rise of almost 48%, followed by Honda's CR-V (+41%) and Nissan's Rogue (+19%), while Ram's trucks fell 15% into the sixth position overall.

Naturally, this could be attributed to a few factors – Ram is gearing up to unleash the refreshed 2025 1500 series into nationwide dealerships, and folks are holding off the purchase until they're available. However, those who want the Hemi V8 under the hood need to hurry up because the facelift also brings the retirement of the mighty powertrain series. As such, the 2024 model year could be your last chance to snatch a Ram 1500 TRX with 702 horsepower coming from the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 starting from no less than $96,590.

No worries, though, when the 2025 model year comes into play, Ram is not letting Ford, Chevy, or GMC have all the fun with their dedicated off-road performance models. Instead, as promised from the first moment when they announced the massive powertrain changes for the 2025 model year 1500 series, a first-ever 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is coming.

It is coming sooner rather than later, as it turns out because the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX successor was teased earlier this month. As per the automaker, the rumor mill, and also the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO will pack a 'smaller' punch in the guise of the company's 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin-turbo mill, which currently offers up to 540 hp for Ram but also 550 horsepower for the 2025 Dodge Charger Sixpack H.O.

Just recently, the good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube have imagined the CGI looks of the upcoming 2025 Ram 1500 RHO off-road performance pickup truck, and their resident pixel master worked overtime because they're unofficially showing it off from almost every angle, both inside and out. More precisely, there's a quick glance at the hypothetical design right on the trailer where it's shown in the first official teaser.

Then there's also a traditional front-three-quarters POV and a front one with or without closed doors. Next comes the interior, then the exterior again, plus many color choices. It's too bad we don't see the rear, too, which is the only one left in the CGI darkness. So, what do you think – is Ram bringing out the 1500 RHO with minor tweaks compared to the standard refreshed models and only with 540 hp under the hood, or are they going to surprise us with something cool to alleviate the potential pain of seeing the 2024 TRX going away?

If you want our two cents on the matter, Stellantis is probably going to let Ram engineers try their best to make us forget the TRX as the Hurricane shows potential and has already seen incremental updates from 520 to 540 and then 550 horsepower. If you ask us, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO surely needs at least 600 horsepower to stand out in a crowd.
