Acura was in a hurry to update the MDX less than two years after the arrival of the fourth generation. The 2025 Acura MDX is here, sporting a more aggressive design, a new touchscreen, and futuristic driver assistance features.
The automaker had a reason to bring the facelift this fast because, with it, it brought several major updates. New styling, new tech, and new features are on the menu for the 2025 MDX.

The MDX SUV builds on its reputation: it is America’s best-selling three-row SUV of all time. To uphold that reputation, the model now gets a major update because "the best never stand still," says Mamadou Diallo, Senior Vice President of American Honda Auto Sales.

The MDX A-Spec now gets the Advance Package, which is a mix of sporty design and premium features. The list includes a head-up display, 16-way power front seats, heated outboard second-row seats, heated steering wheel, and Surround View Camera.

The curvilinear-quilted leather and the front seats with massage function, previously available only for the MDX Type S, are also present on board the MDX with Advance Package and MDX A-Spec.

To put a gap between the turbocharged MDX Type S and the other variants, Acura has come up with the Advance Package as standard, previously offered as an option. This time, the package also includes the all-new 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen luxury audio system.

Twelve of those speakers are installed in the headliner of the vehicle. It is Acura's most powerful audio system ever, also including a 8.8" subwoofer, two amplifiers, and 24 channels of power.

The 2025 MDX also gets the enhanced Acura Watch, which is a set of advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies. It integrates an updated front long-range millimeter wave radar positioned behind the Acura badge, an updated front camera at the top of the windshield, and new wave radars at all four corners. A new touch sensor showed up on the steering wheel.

Drivers will benefit from the presence of a new 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in as standard. The redesigned center console now integrates USB-C ports and increased storage space. Wireless smartphone charging is also standard.

Acura wanted to make it clear to everyone that it is a major update and redesigned the front fascia of the model. A restyled bumper, a new open-frame Diamond Pentagon grille with more aggressive mesh pattern, and darkened JewelEye LED headlights and taillights as standard turn the Acura MDX into a head-turner.

Customers will be able to choose from an enhanced color range, with the Canyon River Blue Metallic and the Urban Gray Pearl now being available. The Technology Package also brings new 20-inch wheels.

The range-topping MDX Type S with Advance Package received the redesigned front seats with Ultrasuede bolsters and the Type S logo embossed on the head restraints.

The version is instantly recognizable from the outside since it sports a frameless Diamond Pentagon grille and redesigned 21-inch wheels with machined face and Berlina Black accents.

An exclusive rear diffuser, large quad exhaust outlets, and red Brembo four-piston front brake calipers are also there.

The top-of-the-line Acura MDX Type S is powered by a 24-valve, dual-overhead-cam 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine. Developed with the help of engineers involved in the championship-winning motorsports programs, it generates 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque.

The power plant is mated to a sport-tuned ten-speed automatic transmission and the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system with torque vectoring and steering resources to all four corners.

The base trim is the Acura MDX with a 3.5-liter V6, 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, linked to a ten-speed auto box.

The 2025 Acura MDX and MDX Type S will also roll off the production line of the plant in East Liberty, Ohio, just like the RDX
. The Acura is an all-American model. It was designed in Los Angeles and engineered in Raymond, Ohio. The three-row SUV will begin arriving at Acura dealerships across America this May.
