The Chevrolet Corvette is one of the most iconic cars in history. It has been around for more than 60 years and has become widely known as "America's Sports Car." For the latest generation, it has morphed into an amazing mid-engine beauty that has pleasantly surprised everyone.
The legendary Corvette gets its name from a small warship, an idea that came from GM's PR assistant director, Myron Scott, back in 1953.

The same year, GM unveiled the first generation of its famous sports car, which was a two-door convertible powered by a 3.9-liter version of the second-generation Blue Flame inline-six that produced 150 hp (112 kW; 152 PS).

Six more generations of successful front-engine cars followed, with the latest featuring a mid-engine layout for the first time in GM history.

Both coupe and convertible base-model Stingrays made their debuts in 2019 greeted by universal acclaim. It is powered by a new version of the LS based GM small-block engine.

The new naturally aspirated V8 called LT2 has an output of 490 hp (365 kW; 497 PS) and produces 465 lb.-ft. (630 Nm) of torque, an improvement of 40 hp (30 kW; 41 PS), and 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm) over the LT1.

For the 2021 model year, the Corvette continues to be sold in three trim levels and two body styles. The two-door coupe with a manually removable top or the hardtop convertible can be ordered with the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims with the Z51 performance package being available on all of them.

For the exterior, Chevrolet removes the Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat and Blade Silver Metallic color options, replacing them with two new ones, Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat and Silver Flare Metallic.

Additionally, the full-length dual racing stripe package features four new colors: Blue, Orange, Red, and Yellow. Also, a new Stinger Stripe is now available in three color combinations: Carbon Flash/Edge Red, Carbon Flash/Edge Yellow, and Carbon Flash/Midnight Silver.

Inside, the beautiful Corvette cabin gets a new Sky Cool Gray/Yellow Strike interior color, which is only available with the 3LT trim with either the GT2 or Competition bucket seats.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are finally available for the new model year and even though wired connectivity is still available, it will make connecting a smartphone to the car much more comfortable and intuitive.

The highlight of the changes is the availability of the Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension on all trim levels. For the previous model year, it was only included in the Z51 performance package.

Due to the ongoing health crisis, which extensively affected production, many customers who ordered the 2020 model have yet to receive it.

With Chevrolet announcing that the 2021 Corvette will keep the same base pricing as the previous model, those who did not receive their ordered cars are hoping that they will eventually get the updated version. This is possible but since the prices of the packages have changed, customers will have to pay extra  for the price increases.

We are looking forward to the future of the C8 Corvette and one addition we can expect is a Z06 version that will be available either in 2022 or 2023.
