These past few days, the Ford Motor Company has been all about motorsport activities – from the recently unleashed S650-based Mustang GT3 and GT4 race cars to the bonkers EV technology demonstrator (SuperVan 4.2) that raced to the clouds during the 2023 Pike Peak International Hill Climb with the legend Romain Dumas behind the wheel. But how about the 'tamer,' regular 'Stangs? Don't they deserve a little love and appreciation – even if only virtually?
We are still eagerly awaiting official word from the Blue Oval about when exactly 2024 Ford Mustang units will first arrive across nationwide dealerships. After all, they are the last of the Mohicans because starting next year, the iconic Camaro rival will bow out without a replacement in sight, and the Dodge Charger plus Challenger will shrink and contract to 'enjoy' the new EV lifestyle promoted by the upcoming production version of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept. But, as everyone has seen, Ford is more preoccupied with halo motorsport activities than retail sales.
Thus, some people have decided to take matters into their own hands. Or rather, at the tip of their CGI brushes, as is the case here with a couple of representatives of the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. First up, we have the virtual automotive designer better known as a.c.g_design on social media, who recently tried to imagine how to make the Chevy Camaro great again - with shades to spare, as well as a 2024 Caddy CT4-V redesign with additional LED 'claws.' But now he is onto bigger fish to fry – as he refocused his attention from GM to Ford in a bid to envision the unofficial Shelby GT500 high-performance muscle car out of the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse.
Safe to say this virtual design project is subtler than most fans would expect from Ford Performance, right? No worries, the other pixel master wasn't as tame. Remember Brad (aka bradbuilds), the CGI expert that "makes concept art, builds things, and works on cars?" Well, now he is back with a green-and-black S650 Mustang bang, something that he had "a lot of fun with," and it shows because he believes he had "so many lines and angles on this car to build off of." Alas, these words are basically an understatement of the bonkers stuff that is going on around the seventh-generation model.
As far as we can tell, this CGI expert also chose a Dark Horse to start with. Still, unlike the hypothetical Shelby GT500 attempt in blue, this sure looks like Hulk's ride with an extreme widebody kit, an additional aerodynamic kit with lots of black bits and pieces on top of that, some classic white deep dish concave aftermarket wheels for a bit of contrasting flair, and a generally slammed atmosphere to top everything off. So, in the end, which one is your favorite?
