Would a Lineup of Vintage Pickup Trucks Make Caddy, Lincoln, and Mercury Fans Happy?

Unfortunately, there is a big hint that something surreal is happening here: Mercury. No, not the nearest planet to the Sun or the metallic chemical element with the symbol Hg but rather the brand of automobiles slotted under the Ford Motor Company from 1938 to 2011.
As such, we have to concede that this is all merely wishful thinking. Alas, we can dream, right? So, here is Jim, the virtual artist known as jlord8 on social media, who has suddenly remembered that he loves automobiles from the classic era and acted upon a great CGI impulse that ended in the creation of an all-new series of vintage pickup trucks from Cadillac, Mercury, and Lincoln?

Quite an eclectic mix of brands, right? Well, there's a reason for that, as always. The graphic designer that shepherds this 'imagination land' is passionate about the automotive industry's 1980s and 1990s eras. And there is no need to take our word for granted, as the pixel master owns both a 1986 Buick Regal T-type and a 1995 Ford Thunderbird SC (aka SuperCoupe), and he proudly displays them from time to time.

When he doesn't do that, the CGI expert is busy doing two things: dreaming of classics from bygone eras or enjoying a little outrage from the fan base when modifying the latest arrivals in North America. Latter examples include the catfished Audi Camaro RS 6 Avant station wagon, the Chevy Silverado HD Utility SUV, or the revival of the Ford Thunderbird SuperCoupe in the most fashionable seventh-generation S650 Ford Mustang x Aston Martin DB12 way possible! Yep, he's kind of bonkers with these ideas.

But in between CGI revivals like the Mercury Cougar XR7 or new body styles like the 2024 Lexus GX 550 pickup truck, he always comes back to his love for vintage digital ideas. And the latest ones are kind of opening completely new chapters for fans of classic pickup trucks. His first idea is entitled 'Mercury Thunder,' and he swaps the Ford F-150 Lightning SVT with Mercury grilles and a logo, just like FoMoCo did in the real world with the Mountaineer and Explorer SUVs. Secondly, we have a recall of that moment when he transformed the Lightning into a single-cab Lincoln Blackwood.

Next up was a way to feel blue about the disappearance of Mercury before we got the chance to see a first-gen Lightning pose as a Mercury. And that's how the author further delved into a distant past where the Lincoln Mark LT was old and older based on F-100 generations, and the Cadillac Escalade 1500 or XT were proud to be based on the OBS Chevy C10 and the original iteration of the C/K series! Pretty dope, right?
