A split between irrational and perhaps the ultimate family sedan ever produced, the Koenigsegg Gemera is the most potent hybrid car in production. Built in the price margin of the ultra-rich, the Gemera can seat three passengers and still bolt from 0 to 60 in 1.9-seconds. James Walker of Mr. JWW uploaded an exclusive update of his Gemera hybrid hypercar order.
Checking out the press Koenigsegg Gemera from Dubai, Walker was curious to know if the hypercar company had any new updates stepping into the new year.
The Koenigsegg Gemera is the world’s first hyper GT. It’s essentially a 1,700 HP hypercar with four seats. According to Walker, you can think of the Gemera as something faster than a Bugatti Chiron, but with the practicality of a Ferrari FF.
Perhaps the most iconic structural feature is its lack of a bi-pillar. As part of its construction, it comes with one single carbon-fiber tub. Its structural rigidity allows it not to have a bi-pillar on the mid-section. As a result there is a more fluid ingress and egress.
Another cool feature is a gyro stabilizer set within the instrument cluster on the steering wheel. It moves with the actual steering wheel. When you turn right or left, it self-levels.
This hypercar will have the highest power-to-cylinder ratio engine globally, with three cylinders putting out 600 HP, and the additional EV drivetrain contributing to the overall 1,700 HP.
Koenigsegg revealed to Walker that they are bringing all of the EV architecture in-house. The Swedish automaker is famous for developing everything in-house, but bringing the EV platform in is a whole new ball game.
The automaker will officially handle everything from the wiring, battery, motors, inverters, and even the infotainment system.
There are only 300 Gemera in production. According to Walker, most units are sold-out, but he was lucky enough to get a build spot in March 2020. Koenigsegg said buyers will be able to spec it out when the configurator becomes available in May.
