Now that Ford prepares to revive the Bronco for the 2021 model year, Jeep clearly feels the pressure. Fret not, however, because FCA has called dibs on the most powerful off-roader in the segment with the Wrangler 392 that cranks out 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet (636 Nm) of torque.
Be that as it may, the Hellcat fits like a glove in the engine bay of the Wrangler. That quote comes courtesy of Tim Kuniskis, the head of passenger cars at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in North America. The next level up would be the Demon-spec motor, but such a monster isn’t on the automaker’s agenda because it would be too darn expensive for a Wrangler.

RubiTrux from North Carolina is responsible for the Demon-swapped JL in the following video, and as expected, that thing looks like a ridiculous amount of fun. The Boone-based company doesn’t offer a price for this conversion, but we do know how much a 707-horsepower Hellcat swap costs. More to the point, prepare at least $58,850, excluding the donor vehicle.

Capable of 808 horsepower on pump gas, the Demon-swapped Wrangler features OEM-supplied parts as well as a billet machined transfer case adapter. A lift kit, 37-inch rubber shoes wrapped around Fuel off-road wheels, Demon decals on the front fenders, and embroidered headrests are also featured, along with power side steps and a heavy-duty front bumper.

The over-the-top JL brings the point home with a winch and auxiliary LED lights, which feel appropriate on such a ludicrous off-roader. Like the limited-edition Dodge Demon, the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI under the hood of this Wrangler features an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission capable of handling 717 pound-feet (972 Nm) of earth-moving torque.

RubiTrux doesn’t mention a thing about the axles and diffs, which may fail spectacularly after a few burnouts if they’re still stock. Thankfully, though, I’m sure the aftermarket is much obliged to sell you sturdier parts.

If the Demon engine is too wild for your liking, RubiTrux offers two alternatives. Swapping the standard mill for a 392 HEMI costs $35,000 including labor, and a TVS R1900 supercharger for the 3.6-liter V6 can be had for $6,495, including a MagnaFlow exhaust system.
