Do you guys think there’s a single big-name professional athlete out there that doesn’t own or hasn’t owned a Lamborghini Urus? Sure, maybe if you’re on the practice squad of an NFL team or on a 10-day contract with an NBA franchise, you might not be able to afford a Lambo, but otherwise? The Urus has become the SUV of choice for people getting paid to bring joy to fan bases around the country.
Just look at all the pro football, basketball and soccer stars that have been confirmed to own an Urus: Luka Doncic (NBA / Dallas Mavericks), Odell Beckham Jr (NFL / Baltimore Ravens), CeeDee Lamb (NFL / Dallas Cowboys), LaMelo Ball (NBA / Charlotte Hornets), Dennis Schroder (NBA / Toronto Raptors), Lautaro Martinez (Serie A / Inter Milan) - and the list goes on.
I’ve got to say though, LaMelo, Luka, OBJ and CeeDee Lamb have the craziest-looking Uruses I’ve ever seen. Lamb’s got the 1016 Widebody kit on, as does LaMelo’s, who also went with a fully custom interior. OBJ on the other hand went with a Novitec widebody kit for his Lambo SUV, while Luka’s is... probably the sickest-looking one.
The Mavericks star’s Urus is equipped with Mansory’s Venatus body kit, resulting in a people hauler that looks more like an off-road prepped Batmobile than anything else. Wowzers.
Do you know whose Lambo Urus isn’t particularly crazy as far as its appearance is concerned? Ant-Man's, that’s who. I’m talking about the one and only Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, one of the NBA’s most promising rising stars, and a player who’s already in the conversation for Top 5 shooting guard currently playing in the league.
Ant-Man's been spotted on social media with this rather plain-looking Urus, in what appears to be Blu Nethuns. That’s not all though, because the SUV does come with these custom white accent stripes.
A big deal? Maybe, maybe not. But even a casual NBA fan would figure that by driving a blue and white-themed car, Edwards might be honoring the Timberwolves, which is the team that drafted him back in 2020, and for which he is currently putting up monster numbers.
Now in his fourth year in the league, Edwards is averaging 28.4 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, 5.4 assists per game, and 1.3 steals per game in 35.9 minutes, shooting 48.7% from the field. That’s what we call a breakout year.
It’s not hard to see that he’s a different player compared to last year, and any previous seasons for that matter. His experience with Team USA at the World Cup a few months back certainly helped – he was often the most aggressive guy on the court.
As for the Wolves, he’s led them to a 7-2 record thus far, winning six games in a row and staying perfect at the Target Center in Minneapolis, with a 5-0 record. It’s still early in the season, but I suspect the Wolves are about to have a pretty strong campaign.
