Having a hobby can be a great way to unwind after a hard day's work. It can help you connect with like-minded people and may even serve as an investment for the future. Although I've slowed down on buying new Hot Wheels collectibles so that I can focus on my project car, I've still added a few vehicles to my small collection.
I've made it a habit so that whenever I walk into a mall, I check out the local toy stores for diecast cars. One particular chain had never brought in Premium Hot Wheels, so I was surprised to see a Team Transport item on display inside. It was Adam LZ's drift-spec Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 and the Aero Lift hauler.

I didn't get my hands on Chelsea Denofa's 1/64th-scale replica before, so I was happy to pick this one up instead. I also came across the '80 Dodge Macho Power Wagon yesterday, but I prefer something else. I decided to look into Mattel's plans for the second Team Transport Mix for 2023, and here I am sharing the knowledge with you too.

Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI & Fleet Flyer

Seeing that Mix A for 2023 featured two American cars and a Japanese one, the Diecast company decided to switch things up for the year's second set. So this time, we're looking at two European cars and an American one instead. There are only so many Hot Wheels Alfa Romeos out there. So fans of the Italian brand were happy to see the 2022 release of the 155 V6 TI.

That first edition was quite similar to the Team Transport model, but there are a few differences that I'd like to point out. First, the livery has been updated, and the new one is much nicer. Also, the Real Riders 6 Spoke Mag wheels have made way for a set of Real Riders 5 Spoke Modern. The windows are now tinted, and the interior is painted black as opposed to the two-tone design of the first car.

If you've already fallen in love with this casting, you'll love to hear that a Car Culture release is coming! But let's look at the hauler inside this pack, as it's also a significant part of the story. The Fleet Flyer has been around since 2018, and it first came out with a red and yellow Momo livery. Some of the more hardcore collectors will immediately think of the 2019 Supreme Exclusive edition, a set that could cost as much as $800 today. The model you're looking at here is the 10th iteration of the Fleet Flyer and the first one since last year's BMW M Series Collector Set.

'61 Impala & '72 Chevy Ramp Truck

While Mark Jones designed the Alfa Romeo casting, Mattel asked Mike Nuttall to create the '61 Impala. The first edition appeared in 2012 and featured a Metalflake Blue paint job and PR5 wheels. By 2020 the company presented a premium version of the casting as part of the Fast & Furious Motor City Muscle set. With this Team Transport variation included, you're looking at 13 iterations for an entire collection.

That shouldn't be difficult to achieve. The new take features a Powder Blue paint job with red accents and some graphic hints here and there: El Segundo is the city where Mattel has its HQ, while the 409 Cu. In. (6.7-liter) will make you think about the Turbo Thrust V8 under the hood. For the first time in the history of this casting, it uses RRSteelie wheels, which is quite fitting, given its age. But the big surprise in this pack might be the hauler. Why is that, you ask? This is the first edition of the '72 Chevy Ramp Truck casting!

And it serves as evidence that Mattel is always looking to bring something new to the table instead of solely relying on older models that are proven to work. Mark Jones was in charge of designing this project, and it's always nice to have a hauler that allows you to see the race car instead of the Fleet Flyer. The license plate reads 1973C20, which should give you more info about this vehicle if you still need to figure it out. The big Chevy is sitting on RRMag wheels, and I can't help but wonder if they're interchangeable with the ones on the Impala.

'70 Rover P6 Group 2 & Rally Hauler and Trailer

Moving on to the last pack inside the new Team Transport Mix, you're looking at another rare appearance for Mattel. The company introduced the '70 Rover P6 Group 2 casting in 2022 as part of the Hot Wheels Boulevard series. The Racing Red livery featured a white roof and RR8SP wheels. That last part has stayed the same for the 2023 iteration, but the paint job on the car has been updated to a two-tone red and blue design.

While the Rover P6 might be the least popular car in this new Team Transport set, British collectors are bound to take an interest in it, given its heritage. It's interesting to point out that the car and hauler are sporting matching wheels, which should look great on your display at home. Mattel has only used the Rally Van and Trailer twice before. The first time around, these were packaged with the Ford RS200 and then with the MG Metro 6R4.

The Rally Van would be successful outside of the Team Transport series, and Mattel should come out with more items like this trailer to help collectors build up their dioramas. You should be able to find Mix B in a store near you quite soon, but of course, pre-ordering one online is always possible. Do yourself a favor, and don't pay more than the retail price. We've got one more bonus to reveal for you on Team Transport vehicles.

Walmart Legends Tour Exclusive

Since 2021, Mattel has released a Walmart Legends Tour Exclusive set of vehicles. Instead of three cars and three haulers like in a standard Team Transport set, there's only one of each this time. The Porsche 934.5 is one of my all-time Hot Wheels favorites, as Ryu Asada joined forces with Jun Imai to design this one. The First Edition model came out in 2017 and looked spectacular in white.

Mattel released seven variations of it until this 2023 model, and I've collected four of them so far. Some eBay users ask as much as $400 for the 2018 Super Treasure Hunt variation, but you should keep looking. There are still more affordable options out there. The Ultra Hots, Spectraflame Orange, was good, but I'm still looking for one. The new iteration of the Porsche 934.5 comes in Silver, with yellow, white, and black accents. I'm usually against black wheels, but these Real Riders Aero ones look perfect on the race car.

The Fleet Street hauler has only been around for about a year, but there are already five iterations on the market. The livery matches the one on the racecar, and we can already see the price of this set soaring on the market. You can expect to pay at least $40 or $50 for it today, but that price will double within the next 12 months. But it won't come close to the Supreme release we discussed earlier. As a bonus, in the video below, you will notice the 2023 Collector Edition Honda S2000, Ryu Asada's favorite JDM machine.

This Legends Tour Special edition model features a Spectraflame Purple AEM livery and Real Riders 10 Spoke wheels. Perhaps it's not nearly as exclusive as the Red Line Club iteration that came out last year, but S2000 collectors will still get all worked out about it. As always, we advise you against going out and paying $200 for one, when there are plenty of offers for half that price.
