Hollywood star Michael B. Jordan crashed his Ferrari 812 Superfast on a night in Hollywood. He was reportedly street-racing another Ferrari, a red 488, when he lost control of his car. His Ferrari started fish-tailing and slammed sideways into a Kia parked on the side of the road.
It was December 3, 11:35 PM, when Michael B. Jordan crashed his Ferrari. The supercar was a mess on the passenger's side. The wheel had detached and rolled away on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. There is no info on the condition of the Kia Niro that it hit. But considering that the impact was so strong that the car lifted off the ground for a second indicates that would be no easy fix.

The actor walked away unharmed the night of the crash. But we can't say the same about his with a pre-crash value of over half a million dollars. The Ferrari was trailered away and the insurance company decided it was a write-off, paid out to the Creed actor, and auctioned it off on Copart. The car popped up for sale in as-is condition at the end of January 2024. A shop bought the Ferrari, reattached the wheel, but sold it two months later.

It was James Condon, the owner of TheStradman YouTube channel, who bought it on eBay for $187,000, hoping to fix it. But he is now starting to ask himself questions: why did they buy and resell it so fast? What was wrong with the Ferrari? Why did they not fix it? What was it that they found on the car?

He is about to find answers to these questions. And he is sooo not going to like them. He has to deal with a cracked windshield that needs to be replaced. The bumper is missing the right side, so it also needs to be replaced. The right side headlight displays a fracture, making it one more component to replace.

The mirror on the passenger's side is also gone, James needs another one. The passenger window was also shattered in the impact.

There are three airbags to replace onboard the car, while the seatbelts are useless right now. There is also a suspension issue on the right side that needs to be addressed.

He is about to find out that a brand-new bumper for the Ferrari 812 Superfast, coming straight from Maranello, Italy, costs $9,809. The left passenger fender is $5,761 more.

It takes James a day and a half to remove the trim from the A-pillar on the passenger side. But now that he learned his way around that part of the car, he only needs five minutes to remove the one on the driver's side.

A gazillion bolts and clips later, he has the entire rear trim out of the cabin that features a very nice spec. It is all red leather and carbon fiber. And all this effort is to get the seatbelt issue solved.

Removing the windshield is also a headache, so he calls on professional help. The experts do the job in just three minutes. However, a new windshield is $3,788. Next up is disconnecting all the hoses and wires between the dashboard and hood. Once the hood is disconnected, he uses trash bins to move it.

He then jacks the car up and removes the front bumper after disconnecting the parking sensors and everything else. The front wheels are off, too, and the difference between the gold finishes of the two of them. The shop that originally bought the Ferrari with a salvage title tried to fix the wheel that detached in the crash.

The doors and fenders go off, which reveals serious frame damage, way more than James expected. It's twisted following the impact with the Kia parked on the side of the road, and there is also a hole the size of a baseball in it. So, his biggest fear was confirmed. He decides to never buy a supercar sight unseen ever again.

He also discovers a chip in the carbon-ceramic rotor. Both left and right side rotors will have to be replaced, a move that he estimates will cost him around $10,000 more.

He had a budget for fixing the Ferrari. Now, it has been annihilated. The current estimates are nowhere near what he had planned to spend to get this 812 Superfast back on the road. Now, it is no longer a question of "when" but of "if."

The model is powered by Ferrari's almighty 6.5-liter V12 that pumps out 819 horsepower (830 metric horsepower) and 530 pound-feet (718 Newton meters) of torque through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, steered straight to the rear wheels.

Those are enough for a run from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph (340 kph). But apparently, it might be too much for some drivers, regardless of their Hollywood status.
