You know Tesla. They don’t advertise. They don’t have showrooms. They don’t have a Public Relations department. But every once in a while, they come up with a video that looks every inch a commercial. This time, it is the Tesla Cybertrucks' light show.
The light show that the five Tesla Cybertrucks that star in the video put on is 'The Arrival' feature from the holiday update, the move that made most Tesla owners wonder with disappointment: "Is that all?"

In the video that lasts one minute and 43 seconds, the lights of the Cybertrucks light up and switch off in synch to create a visual show from one end to the other of the row of five vehicles that either have a red frunk lid or the lid reflects the LED lighting on the ceiling of what seems to be a car park.

While it might be pretty tedious for the Cybertruck owners to create their own light show, they can download light show files that they can be found online, which significantly simplifies things.

The light show put on by the electric pickup trucks is obviously a nod to the upcoming holidays. But it looks just as pointless as Christmas decorations in January.

Tesla explains that the Cybertrucks have been customized to show animations that are coordinated across five vehicles to create a unique, unified show. The light display was created by HVpad, an independent creator of custom light shows for Teslas and they can be run in any Tesla that supports the feature.

Whoever wants to try the feature out will have to download and install the xLights application, for instance, and go through a very long list of instructions before they turn their car into a projector on wheels.

This is not the first time Tesla cars set up an entire light show. Several Model Xs have done it recently. The company also tested the feature on the Tesla semis.

The carmaker has just started rolling out Cybertrucks to customers. The first ten of them have been delivered during a handover event at the Giga Texas production facility at the end of November, with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian receiving VIN 003. Jay Leno was also spotted driving one, VIN 005, but he was doing it for his YouTube show, Jay Leno’s Garage.

Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen left home, on November 31, with VIN 002. So we can only take a wild guess and assume that the 001 belongs to Elon Musk himself.

The reservations for the Cybertruck have been piling up for the past four years, reportedly going above the 2 million mark. Even though Tesla is slowly rolling out vehicles, mass production won’t kick off before 2025.
