We may not consider the Porsche Taycan an aging product, as the Zuffenhausen brand has certainly nailed the design. However, the automaker does, so they are now preparing its mid-cycle refresh.
Set to replace the iteration that entered production back in 2019, previewed by the Mission E Concept four years before at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the facelifted Porsche Taycan was caught testing in Europe's freezing north a few days before Christmas.

Our spy photographers were on set to immortalize this prototype, which features the usual styling tweaks expected from a facelifted car. The fresh design traits are very modest in plain Porsche fashion, but that's understandable since they didn't want to ruin a winning recipe.

It comes with new headlamps that protrude more into the hood, and feature revised graphics. The bumper is also new and looks cleaner, courtesy of the reshaped side vents. The rear bumper was also under special care at the brand's design department, though you will probably need a side-by-side comparison with the current car to tell what's new. The same also goes for the lighting signature, which still comprises the full-width light bar.

Our man with the cam was unable to get close enough to the black prototype of this Taycan Sport Turismo – aka the station wagon - that was caught virtually undisguised to snap a few images of the interior. However, this tester didn't seem to feature the analog clock at the top of the dashboard. We expect Porsche to give it at least new software for the infotainment system and digital dials unless they're perhaps planning to replace them with fresher and more potent units.

It is possible that the steering wheel will also be part of the novelties, alongside perhaps a tweaked center console. We believe the German car manufacturer will expand the upholstery and trim options and maybe the exterior color palette, as well.

Chances are they will wrap things off with improved ADAS and technology features, and word on the street is that the driving range will also increase. Nevertheless, we cannot be certain of it, so we'll take it with a pinch of salt for now until it debuts, presumably in the first half of 2024.

In the United States, the Taycan Sport Turismo is offered in a single specification, the GTS, unlike the Sedan and jacked-up variant, the Cross Turismo, which can be ordered in multiple configurations. It boasts 590 horsepower (598 ps/440 kW) on Overboost, needs 3.5 seconds to 60 mph (97 kph) with the Launch Control function engaged, and can keep pushing up to 155 mph (250 kph) with summer tires on its feet. The EPA-estimated range is 233 miles (375 km), and it has an MSRP of $141,200.
