With the way things are going these days, it’s no wonder some folks are simply reeling in the cash. But what are you going to do with all that cash, and more importantly, how are you going to stay at that financial level?
With a friggin superyacht, that’s how! I know, yachts are expensive and seem to just burn money rather than make money. After all, it’s not really an asset unless you play it like one. That said, the Ectheta superyacht does just that.

This design from Dastinas Steponenas of Amsterdam, Netherlands, is one of the few superyachts that breathe new life and culture into these usually costly ventures. The idea behind it is simple. How do you go from a money-gulping vessel such as a yacht or superyacht and turn it into a money-maker?

Well, one of the ways you can do this is to simply create a cruise liner out of the darned thing. However, being a private yacht, the costs supported by each guest would be huge. And who wants to pay a million dollars per week per person? Mind you, this is also the kind of vessel targeted towards a specific customer too, the kind of vessel where you’ll find Mickey passed out next to a stripper pole, looking like he ate all the powdered doughnuts.

And honestly, that’s the idea here, even though there is no mention of any Mickeys or stripper poles in the designs. Actually, the designs show only one major attraction factor for this ship: an art gallery. Why an art gallery? For a couple of reasons.

The first of which is clearly money. Once you put up the works of an artist on a superyacht, you're sure to have some sort of commission from the pieces sold. Heck, if you don’t want commissioned sales, then just buy the pieces yourself and resell them, with a bump in the price, of course - nothing your clients and friends won’t be able to dish out, of course.

How the gallery is all set up, however, is quite neat. Towards the aft of the vessel, we can see two huge supports on the main deck. If we lift our eyes up a little bit, the deck above reveals a space enclosed in glass where we can see a number of art installations. This space also allows for a 270-degree view of the surroundings.

As for any other amenities, the designs don’t show much else except for a private jacuzzi on the upper deck and what seems to be an endless pool on the main deck. From here we can continue our journey aft-ward via two sets of stairs to the beach club at the rear.

How the interior is set up or what sort of furnishings we may find inside this money pit, we don’t know as the designer made no mention of this. But it's a no-brainer that the customer commissioning something like this would have an ultimate say about the interior design - within functional limits, of course.

This being the concept that it is, we probably won’t see this exact vessel out on the water. But I reckon the idea of a floating art gallery is something someone will pick up somewhere. Heck, I'd like to sell a banana duct-taped to a wall on something like this. Why not?
