In case you didn't know, the Auto China 2024 show - also known as the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, is currently in full swing between April 25 and May 4 at the New China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing, China.
There are many novelties there, from bespoke Bentley and Rolls-Royce commissions to feisty Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 805-hp plug-in hybrid supercars and from prototypes of big smart automobiles to loads of NEV (new energy vehicle) concepts. However, the icing on the cake is represented by the most powerful internal combustion series-production sport utility vehicle of them all – which comes from Sant'Agata Bolognese. Yep, eat your heart out, Ferrari, would probably say one Lambo founder if he was still alive.

In fact, the 715-hp Ferrari Purosangue, despite its coach doors and elegant V12 engine, is not even second-best. Instead, the Bavarians over at BMW were the old kings now turned runner-up with the 738-hp V8 PHEV-toting BMW XM Label Red. Plus, there's also a certain Cayenne with 729 hp. No worries, Lamborghini was keen on reasserting its super-SUV supremacy in the ultra-luxury crossover SUV sector with the fresh Urus SE.

Looking like an evolved Urus S and Urus Performante – including from the design standpoint, not just the technical format – this is the Italian alumni of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid sensei that has already surpassed its master even before hitting its most important markets like North America, China, Asia, the Middle East, or Europe. Of course, aside from the refreshed styling, the most important takeaway is the plug-in hybrid powertrain, which grants it 800 ps and 950 Nm of torque, or 789 horsepower and 701 pound-feet in America.

Costing a 'meager' $258k in America, which is a lot less than a Ferrari Purosangue (over $398k), that’s for sure, this new Lambo Urus SE is also capable of outrunning most of the current crop of supercars thanks to a maximum speed of 312 kph (194 mph) after it outpaced them to 62 mph (100 kph) in just 3.4 seconds. Of course, some Ferrari enthusiasts can have nothing of that, and one dweller across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has decided to create a high-riding Ferrari that stands out in any crowd even more than any other ultra-luxury CUV.

More precisely, Luca Serafini, a virtual automotive designer based in Modena, Italy (aka lsdesignsrl on social media), has imagined the EV future for Ferrari in a very interesting way – he mixed the Ferrari Purosangue's main credentials as a crossover SUV with the three-door shooting brake DNA of the 2016-2020 Ferrari GTC4Lusso grand tourer. The result is a zero emissions effort, for sure, albeit only wishful thinking and dwelling around imagination land as an artsy sketch of a low-slung coupe SUV. So, what do you think – is it better than a Lambo Urus SE?
