The most powerful internal combustion series-production sport utility vehicle of them all comes from Sant'Agata Bolognese. Replacing the V8-only Urus S and Urus Performante, the Urus SE is best described as the Italian brother of the 2024 model year Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.
To be publicly revealed later this week at the Beijing Auto Show, the 2025 model year Lamborghini Urus SE also features a slew of visual updates over the Urus S and Urus Performante. For starters, the matrix-style LED headlights feature a daytime running light signature inspired by a bull's tail. Ferruccio Lamborghini was a Taurus, and had he been alive today, he would have been proud of this apparently small but sweet detail.

As a whole, the front end of the Urus SE takes after the Revuelto. The rear end, however, looks at Lamborghini's past with Gallardo LP 560-4 influences. More specifically, the black panel on the hatch-style liftgate and the LED taillights hark back to the Italian automaker's V10 supercar.

Opening the driver's door also reveals a few changes, beginning with 12.3 inches for the infotainment system's touchscreen as opposed to 10.1 inches for the Urus S and Urus Performante. Obviously enough, the digital instrument cluster's real estate has also gone up (from 8.6 to 12.3 inches). These displays are joined by a third 12.3-inch display, nestled between the infotainment system's touchscreen and the center console.

Lamborghini advertises the Urus SE with a staggering 47 interior themes, more than 100 exterior paint options, new 23-inch wheel designs, and one-of-a-kind potential via the Ad Personam customization program. There is more than meets the eye, though, because Lamborghini has also worked its magic on aerodynamic performance.

The rear spoiler and aerodynamic diffuser increase rear downforce by 35 percent over the Urus S. Cooling has also been improved by means of revamped air ducts and underbody vents. Because it's a plug-in hybrid, the Urus SE sports four more driving modes than its predecessors: Recharge, Hybrid, Performance, and EV Drive. The latter enables zero-emission driving at speeds no higher than 135 kilometers per hour (84 miles per hour).

Attached below, the technical specs sheet reveals a top speed of 312 kilometers per hour (194 miles per hour) and 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in a brisk 3.4 seconds. Very impressive for a plug-in hybrid SUV with 25.9 kilowatt hours' worth of high-voltage battery, which enables a WLTP-rated EV driving range of more than 60 kilometers (over 37 miles). In the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid's case, the WLTP estimate is 70 – 73 kilometers (43 – 45 miles).

Based on the very same MLB Evo platform as the German sport utility vehicle produced at the Volkswagen Group's Bratislava Plant in Slovakia rather than a Porsche assembly plant in Germany, the Urus SE belts out 800 ps and 950 Nm of torque, meaning 789 horsepower and 701 pound-feet.

Starting at $258,000 in the United States, the Urus SE features a transmission-mounted electric motor that assists the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with up to 141 kW and 483 Nm (189 horsepower and 356 pound-feet). On its own, the Porsche-Audi engine makes 620 ps (612 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft). At the moment of reporting, the closest plug-in hybrid rivals to the Urus SE are the aforementioned 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid (729 ponies and 701 pound-feet) and the aesthetically challenged BMW XM Label (738 ponies and 738 pound-feet).
