Auto China 2024 - also known as the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, is currently being held between April 25 and May 4 at the New China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing, China. With this being one of the year's most important events, it's clear that all automakers are sparing no expense there.
More precisely, just about everyone who wants to have a presence in the world's largest automotive market is present there, from Bentley and Rolls-Royce with bespoke commissions to Mercedes-Benz with the all-electric G 580 with EQ Technology and Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance. Plus, there's just about everything in between, including Nissan and Mazda NEV concepts, small models like the MINI Aceman, the new king of the super-SUV hill Lambo Urus SE, and the not-so-small-anymore smart Concept #5.

Created by smart Automobile, which is a completely different enterprise compared to smart GmbH as it's now a joint venture between Mercedes and Geely, the newcomer prototype is quite large for the little brand – it's 4,700 millimeters (185 inches) long, as opposed to 4,440 for the #3 and 4,270 for the #1 smart models. Anyway, it also looks quite cool with its adventurous overlanding style, but for sure, the production version, the brand's largest vehicle yet, will be toned down for zero-emission customers. However, it's one of the more interesting ideas from the brand as of late – and it naturally attracted a lot of attention from fans and other venues alike – such as the imaginative realm of digital car content creators.

Over there, Kleber Silva, a Brazil-based virtual artist known as KDesign AG on social media, has decided to have a CGI go at imagining the smart #5 production crossover SUV. It didn't take much to dip it in CGI sauce and unofficially make a production CUV out of it – the pixel master combined the ruggedness of the Mercedes-Benz GLB silhouette with a zero-emissions powertrain digitally taken from the EQB. That means up to 288 hp with an AWD dual-motor configuration plus a huge autonomy like on the concept car – smart promises up to 550 kilometers via WLTP or 700 kilometers when using the CLTC regulations, that's 342 and 435 miles, respectively.

No worries, if you don't fancy the not-so-little smart model, the CGI expert has other high-riding propositions on social media – he recently imagined stuff like the non-existent Alfa Romeo Junior (formerly Milano) Cabriolet, the hypothetical Maserati Kubang inspired by the Maserati Grecale and based on the Junior's DNA, or the vision of a BYD Song Plus electric compact pickup truck – ready "to compete with the biggest names in the market." So, which of these 'little guys' is your new digital favorite?
