Unfortunately, the sixth generation of the iconic Chevrolet Camaro marked the end of the current lineage for the legendary pony car nameplate in December 2023, when production ended.
Even worse, there's no successor on the horizon just yet. The big problem is that General Motors might take its sweet time before unveiling a new iteration, also. Initially rumored to expand into a sub-brand along with the Corvette, the Camaro is now dead and buried for the time being. That's unlike the S650 seventh-generation 2024 Ford Mustang GT, which just celebrated its 60th anniversary, or the upcoming eighth-generation Dodge Charger, which is going back to the two-door fastback coupe roots alongside the four-door sedan and also embracing new powertrains for the Daytona (EV) and Sixpack (3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six Hurricane) models.

As such, even the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has given up hope – at least momentarily – for a seventh Camaro. But they're not abandoning the nameplate, and instead, at least one pixel master is focusing on the cool restomod category. Meet the virtual artist tucked behind the Carmstyledesign moniker on social media, who dropped the modern CGI shenanigans a while back for some old-school ideas interspersed between them.

For example, the CGI expert recently toyed with the idea of a copiously slammed and marvelously widebody 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air featuring his signature smooth digital style. That wasn't the only old-school idea he has had, by the way, if we remember design projects like the C5 Chevy Corvette, the 1960s-inspired Ford Mustang GT, or the retro-futuristic Shelby Cobra, among others.

Now, though, he's focused on a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 featured as a virtual restomod with all the potential goodies one could think about or crave. So, there are new LED headlights and retro-styled taillights, a cherry color that goes from crimson to black when the light hits it properly from different angles, massive dual-tone concave aftermarket wheels (especially at the rear) shod in white-wall skinny tires, a nice aerodynamic body kit with extended fender flares, plus a lowrider attitude.

The modern details also include things like hidden door handles, but unfortunately, we can't take a peek inside the cockpit – possibly because the artist didn't finish rendering it in 3D. Alas, at least we can hear the V8 rumble from the battery of exhaust tips added to the rear. So, what do you think? Could this virtual restomod become feasible for a custom project using the likeness of a 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, an option that originally appeared in 1967 and was basically the RPO code for the Special Performance Package that strived to make the Camaro a "race-ready" daily? Or is it too wild and costly-looking to be worth the trouble?
