Despite the fact that the 2020 model year Chevrolet Corvette production is already allocated (the order books for the 2021 model are set to open in late May), there's one question that continues to split opinions across the web: is this Chevy a supercar? The rendering sitting before us seems to tip the balance toward a positive answer, at least on the visual front.
The pixel painting gifts the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with a widebody kit and this is the kind that takes the vehicle pretty far from its factory look. And it's enough to check out those uber-generous arches to notice this.

The front apron has also been redefined and we can now see hungrier air intakes. It's simply impossible to overlook that massive front splitter and it's worth noting this is held in place with the help of four rods.

We must also mention the vents located at the upper side of the apron, which remind us of the design elements GT Division Porsche 911s feature.

Interestingly, Monaco Auto Design, the digital label behind this image, didn't initially envision the widebody work for the C8. So let's hear the tale in its words: "I actually designed this kit for the C7 a little while back, figured to see what it would look like on the new C8 with some subtle tweaks and additions, although I would still like to design its own kit for it,"

Make no mistake, once the effects of the current global crisis become less serious, we'll see an explosion of custom mid-engined Corvettes. Even with the present difficulties, we've seen multiple builds. For one, multiple twin-turbo projects, as long with a Procharger one are already underway, while we've seen nitrous-sipping examples descending into the ten-second 1/4-mile arena. As for the aesthetic front, the most recent example delivered a first, namely a #bagged C8 Corvette.
