The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover SV LWB is undoubtedly the stuff of dreams when it comes to posh SUVs. Just uttering the name of this mighty and extra-long behemoth can temporarily transcend you into a world of British-inspired aristocracy. But as you may already anticipate, experiencing this will cost a pretty penny. But let's see what you get in return for a lot of cash.
Before upgrading the BMW-sourced V8 powertrains through mild electrification, the Land Rover Range Rover SV came with the P530 moniker. For the 2024 model year, the brand upped the power output and put the P615 designation next to the best trim available for this SUV. The numbers indicate the metric horsepower figure, so the recent evolution added 85 ps (84 hp) and may have even improved fuel consumption.

But the change announced in May also meant the debut of a cleaner, more minimalist interior design. The ingenious climate control rotary buttons with integrated displays that doubled as a high-tech switch for the heated and ventilated seats fell victim to the new philosophy. The "terrain response" control switch shared the same fate. But a more prominent center screen through which the front-row occupants can adjust various settings might do the trick.

As such, the Range Rover SV LWB you'll see below is a 2023 model-year unit. The content creator wrongly identifies it as the mildly facelifted luxury SUV version. But the P530 is no more.

American customers can order the 2024 Range Rover SV or the 2024 Range Rover SV LWB only with a newer V8 (that may or may not be the novel M-derived) engine under the hood. This means new buyers will see the P615 indicative and an MSRP of $209,000 for the standard Range Rover SV or $234,000 for the long-wheelbase (LWB) version. Interestingly enough, Europeans can have an SV with a diesel powerplant.

Fortunately, some dealerships may still have a couple of undriven Range Rover SV LWB P530s. In the video below, Land Rover's best version of the SUV boasts a plethora of cool features and looks like it's truly capable of meeting all exigent demands coming from well-off customers that are used to living large. It's worth taking a look and soaking in everything the British marque has to throw at people willing to splurge for their ride.

Capable of wafting around or reaching 62 mph in 4.7 seconds, the 4.4-liter engine roars into life easily and allows the driver to accelerate to a top speed of 162 mph when on the Autobahn. But it's unlikely that someone would push this SUV to its limits, considering it's more like a high-riding limo than a track-focused weapon.

Besides looking like a refined piece of big jewelry from the outside, this Range Rover boasts a fantastic blend of materials inside. Leather, ceramic, suede-like microfiber inserts, piano black plastic, and brushed aluminum reveal a cabin that feels more like a private plane's living area. It's certainly built around satisfying the motoring needs of those sitting in the second row. But in true Land Rover fashion, people sitting in the front also have access to a cooler.
