It’s been two full decades since KAHN came out with their first-ever customized Range Rover, and to celebrate that anniversary, the British tuner just unveiled the so-called ‘Fintail’, a new model built under the umbrella of their Racing Green program.
KAHN have been extremely successful when it comes to custom Range Rovers and bespoke projects in general. In fact, after the debut of their original Range Rover, it is said that demand for their work grew so fast, it warranted a direct vehicle supply from Jaguar Land Rover themselves. The latter would then go on to create its own special vehicles division, known today as SVO.

The influences behind the Fintail, according to Racing Green, stem from over half a century of British motorsports heritage, evolving in the 1940s in the wake of mid-century aerospace development. The Fintail is meant to embody greatness from both land and in the air, and to be fair, there are some clear aerospace visuals we can’t ignore here, such as those custom three-spoke wheels.

Then there’s the body kit, comprised of a single sweep front bumper valance, merging into the vented bumper extensions (this is reminiscent of the very first KAHN-tuned Range Rover project), followed by custom side skirts, plus a winged diffuser at the rear. Both the side skirts and the rear diffuser are meant to draw inspiration from yesterday’s ground effect racing machines, as well as modern fighter jets.

“As KAHN evolved, coach-built projects such as Vengeance and The Flying Huntsman became a focus at HQ, leading us to take a five-year hiatus from Range Rover projects. With the arrival of the latest Range Rover comes an exciting opportunity to return to the roots of KAHN®, while focusing firmly on the future of automotive fashion,” explained company founder Afzal Kahn.

We can’t tell you how much this thing costs just yet, because unfortunately, those details haven’t been made public. There is, of course, a waiting list you can join for exclusive news and updates, but unless you’re genuinely interested in this vehicle as a future purchase, you might as well just let us update you as soon as we learn anything new.

Sexiest Range Rover Ever?

Making the Range Rover Sport look even better is less daunting of a task than doing the same for its larger sibling, the non-Sport variant. Simply put, its sheer size and shape doesn’t allow for as many dynamic visuals.

To make matters worse, most tuners will likely ruin these cars from a visual standpoint, unless you really like outlandish and flamboyant styling.

Take Mansory, for example. Just recently they unveiled their original take on the new Range Rover, and it looks like something only the CEO of a Middle Eastern oil conglomerate would love. Not to judge. I mean, if that’s your thing, then it’s perfectly all right. Most of us though, we like our Range Rovers to look more stylish than they do opulent – if we can even make that distinction.

So, yes, as things stand today, it wouldn’t be ridiculous to say that this right here might be the best-looking custom all-new Range Rover we’ve ever seen.
