The Skoda Enyaq vRS (RS in Continental Europe) has barely turned one, but the Czech automaker has already improved its performance, making it faster and more powerful than before in the United Kingdom.
Part of the 2024 model year update that applies to both body styles (SUV and Coupe), the Skoda Enyaq vRS sports improvements to its electric powertrain in the form of new power management software and recalibrated motors. The result is an extra 41 ps (40 hp/30 kW) churned out.

As a result, the output has gone up from 299 ps (295 hp/220 kW) to 340 ps (335 hp/250 kW), which makes this model Skoda's punchiest production vehicle ever. With the 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) sprint taking 5.5 seconds, one second quicker than before, it is also the brand's fastest accelerating car.

But the extra oomph doesn't come at the expense of the range, as the 2024 Enyaq vRS is said to be able to travel further on a full charge. It has a 26-km (16-mile) increase for the Coupe and 24 km (15 miles) for the SUV, with the provisional WLTP range standing at 547 km (340 miles). And they obtained that by tweaking the software, as the battery remained unchanged at 77 kWh net.

Moreover, the DC charging speed has been boosted by 40 kW to 175 kW. Thus, the 10 to 80% charge takes eight minutes less at around 28 minutes, according to Skoda.

Skoda also speaks about additional refinements made to the two main screens, the infotainment system and digital gauges, which are easier to use and deliver more information than before. The head-up display was also refined, featuring new graphics and animations that make it more intuitive.

Two new equipment levels join the offering. The first one is called the Advanced and adds a Canton sound system, a head-up display, a heated front windshield, and heated rear seats. The second one is called the Maxx and brings electrically adjustable front seats with massage function for the driver, a heated steering wheel, park assist, area-view camera, and dynamic chassis control.

Interested parties will have to pay an extra £3,980 ($4,806) over the base price of the car for the Maxx Package, whereas the Advanced will set them back £2,035 ($2,457).

Since we mentioned the cost of the two optional packs, we might as well tell you that Skoda has yet to release the full pricing information for the 2024 Enyaq RS Coupe and SUV. The company expects the order books to open before the end of this month (October 2023), so they will likely drop the details in a few days or weeks. Mind you, they should carry a small premium over their predecessors, which start at £52,670 ($63,604) for the SUV and £54,370 ($65,657) for the Coupe.
