autoevolution's V8 Month

Few generations have witnessed so many historic changes and events taking place as ours did (we bet that’s what all generations say), all with the potential to alter the course of human history.

Human civilization, though, will be impacted the most by changes taking place in the auto industry. After more than a century of using fossil fuels for our traveling needs, we’ll all soon, willy-nilly, have to adjust to driving electric cars.

The switch will have far-reaching effects, but of interest to us here on autoevolution is that it’ll kill off iconic landmarks not only of our generation, but of previous ones as well.

Like, say, the mighty V8 that has been at the center of America’s motoring hopes and dreams ever since, well, forever. First born France, it became famous thanks to Cadillac in the mid-1910s, and never went away, taking its place under the hoods of pretty much all car and truck families made here ever since.

That’ll change, of course, as American states will begin implementing ICE cars sale bans, and the mighty V8 will be gone, sooner than we all expect. Who can forget, for instance, the latest announcement in this respect, concerning the fate of the Charger muscle car?

With that in mind, we’ve decided to sing the V8s swansong by declaring September 2022 V8 Month. So, get ready for 30 days of intensive, high-octane coverage of all that was good (and bad) in the V8 world.
