Dutch and Italian shipyards may enjoy the highest prestige in the world of ultra-luxurious superyachts, but US-based builders also have a rich history and unique heritage. The all-American Hospitality has reached iconic status over the years as one of the most successful launches in Westport's 164 series and is truly worthy of an island-hopping millionaire.
Often described as floating mansions, superyachts can offer the generous accommodation and flexible, fun features of a cruise ship. Some boast layouts with fewer staterooms in favor of additional lounging and spa areas. The aptly-named Hospitality isn't one of them. This large pleasure craft is ready to comfortably accommodate up to 16 guests and a large crew of more than ten people without sacrificing modern amenities.

The majestic Hospitality uses its length (50 meters/164 feet) and volume (499 GT) to make guests feel truly at home while cruising without a care in the world around the Mediterranean or in the Bahamas. Its impressive configuration reveals seven elegant, well-equipped staterooms.

Most yachts place only the master suite on the master deck. Hospitality breaks the norm. The owner's cabin is like a self-contained apartment, with access to a private deck and an adjoining lounge area that can double as a private office.

The private balcony turns this space into a cocoon with full privacy and luxurious comfort. The main deck houses an equally-elegant VIP suite with a sophisticated, marble-clad bathroom and a twin cabin. Another twin, plus three double cabins, are all located on the lower deck.

Beautifully-crafted twin staircases connect the decks. The main salon reveals a classic-style configuration with a spacious lounge to the aft and a large oval table for formal dining amidships. The main aft deck is equipped for al-fresco dining and boasts a modern bar and generous lounge seating.

A second area for al-fresco dining is available on the yacht's large sundeck. The dining area and the outdoor bar are partially covered so guests can enjoy them comfortably. The sundeck's aft area is left completely open because it's entirely dedicated to sun lounging, with a large, circular jacuzzi as the main attraction.

The hospitality layout is also flexible. For instance, the fully-equipped gym can easily be converted into a spa or a massage room, depending on the guests' preferences. The generous cabin layout can also suit the varying needs of families or large groups of friends.

Destined for fun vacations, the American yacht reveals a large, inflatable swim platform that invites everyone onboard to enjoy the water. The vessel's expansive lazarette opening up from the transom is perfect for housing a huge collection of water toys. Hospitality even comes with an inflatable slide for extra water fun.

An unexpected perk is that Hospitality can move remarkably fast. Unlike most yachts in this size category, the Westport 164 can hit 25 knots (28.7 mph/46 kph). At cruising speed, it promises a transatlantic range of 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km).

Since its debut more than a decade ago, Hospitality has demonstrated its long-range capabilities on numerous extended voyages and is still ready to explore remote destinations. It was refitted in 2016 and, most recently, in 2021, when its interior style was refreshed.

This American beauty was one of the prestigious yachts making an appearance at the famous St Barth New Year's Celebration two years ago. Reportedly owned by Patrick Willis, the founder of an automotive repossession servicing empire, this Westport pleasure craft is currently on the market, asking for a whopping $29.75 million.

Hospitality is considered the most successful Westport 164 with its lavish accommodation and family-friendly amenities. The American shipyard launched this series in 2006, with the debut of Vongo. The yachts in this line are made entirely of fiberglass and are some of Westport's largest ones ever built. William Garden was responsible for the naval architecture, while the acclaimed, UK-based Donald Starkey styled the Westport 164 interiors.

All the vessels in this series claim impressive seakeeping and stability. They are ABS-classed and MCA-compliant - a guarantee of exceptional performance and durability. They were particularly adapted for family cruising, reflected in the generous yet flexible accommodation, spacious outdoor areas, and up-to-date entertainment systems.

This also makes them popular charter yachts. Until now, Hospitality has also proven to be a very popular charter option, despite the high weekly rate of nearly $250,000.

Westport itself is a name that's synonymous with boating heritage in the US. This renowned company has been building commercial vessels at its Pacific Northwest shipyard since 1964. Although mostly known for these types of commercial craft (it has built more than 200 to date), Westport slowly transitioned to the superyacht sector. It currently builds yachts between 30 and 50 meters.

Another Westport 164, the 2009 Quantum of Solace, was sold earlier this year. Its last known asking price was similar to that of Hospitality - $29 million. Once again, this proved the enduring popularity of these iconic American-made pleasure craft.
