Sometimes, even the imaginative realm of digital car content creators gets a few nasty errors and fun glitches - and until it resets, we are plagued with quirky, humorous, or maddening visions of CGI mashups.
Not long ago, these ideas – where two or three cars, CUVs, SUVs, or trucks would be put into a digital blender and expelled as one – were trendy across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI. Nowadays, the hype has pretty much run its course and dyed out – we have seen prolific CGI mashup accounts like superrenderscars give us new design projects many months ago.
Their latest interesting CGI mashup was that of a cross between a Tesla and a Bugatti – but even that one failed to gain traction. It's pretty clear that the days of mindlessly blending different cars from various brands are almost over. However, not everyone got the memo, and even 'serious' artists were corrupted by the virus of mashup quirkiness.
For example, Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation-based virtual artist Aksyonov Nikita has prepared a fresh take on the latest Acura. The premium Japanese automaker is nowhere near as prolific as its peers from Lexus or Infiniti, so the latest update from its range is neither too essential nor easy to remember – the 2024 Acura TLX 'Sport Sedan' was subtly enhanced with mostly invisible changes.
However, if Nikita had his way with the series that kicks off at $40,050 and sports a 272-hp 2.0-liter turbo or a 355-hp 3.0L V6 turbo (Type S) plus the choice of FWD or AWD, things would have been a lot more interesting because Acura would welcome into the fold the 2024 Acura TLX Type S Coupe, too. In fact, things would have been so attractive with this 355-hp Type S model that Toyota's lawyers would notice it too, mainly due to its uncanny resemblance to their 2024 Toyota GR Supra two-door sports car.
But wait, as we have more of these pesky CGI mashups. The good folks at the PoloTo channel on YouTube are pretty serious about their unofficial new model designs that are usually made with a bit of help from AI software. But on this occasion, they decided to talk about the upcoming 2025 Hyundai Tucson redesign and illustrate it with something that feels like a Lamborghini Urus more than anything else.
I really have no idea why they decided to go down that treacherous path. However, maybe someone decided to make a joke and turn them into the butt of jokes – one of the renderings even expressly references this potential conclusion because the license plate reads 'B UTT 220.' Maybe it's some sort of internal payback; who knows? Honestly, I hope they get back on the right CGI track as soon as possible and without additional glitches like this one!
