So, the Mopar fans are currently holding their breath to see if the rumors are true – and the next-gen Dodge Charger, which is returning to a two-door lifestyle, will get the new 3.0-liter Hurricane family of engines in addition to joining the novel EV era. How about Chevrolet?
The Mopar enthusiasts are keen to show everyone they have a glimmer of hope, even if the Dodge Challenger will bow out as there's no room for two pony cars in the lineup. But while Ford Motor Company is already well on its way to end the year on a high note with the 2024 Ford Mustang and just unleashed the first special edition package of the S650 series, GM is tight-lipped about the end of the Camaro line.

According to the company's officials, the sixth generation Chevy Camaro production will end in January 2024 with no direct successor in sight but with the promise of a potential rebirth further down the road. However, the rumor mill has already announced that GM will halt production of the iconic pony/muscle car a bit earlier – at the end of November for the Cabriolet and in early December for the fixed-roof version. Well, that won't bode well for fans, right?

They were robbed of a proper farewell because of the Detroit automaker's stubbornness not to resurrect the Z/28 model for a final hurrah that could elevate it into the car hall of fame alongside the Collector's Edition and Garage 56 limited series. However, if you want to listen to the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, there's something even better than just bringing back the fabled Z/28. So, how about a modern reinterpretation of the IROC-Z?

Jim, the virtual artist known as jlord8 on social media, restarted his meddling of all things GM - especially Chevrolet - and now we have an IROC-Z heir after he played with the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger two-door SUV and the Chrysler 300C Wagon. If it looks familiar, his interpretation of a revived Camaro IROC-Z stems from his love of the 1980s – the original appeared in 1985 as an option package on the Z/28 and was named after the International Race of Champions.

With help from the swashbuckling pixel master, the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro travels back in time to adopt the unique looks of the third generation but also keeps all the modern credentials of the 650-hp 6.2-liter supercharged V8-equipped ZL1. The result is a pretty awesome blend of 1980s flavor combined with the planted looks of a modern pony/muscle car that can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Hellcats and Shelbys – at least according to the body of fans of the CGI expert.

Thus, the question is simple: should we encourage Chevrolet to build something like this and finally give the current Camaro a proper send-off?
