You know how sequels will often disappoint by not living up to the hype of the original? Some people feared this could happen with the Bugatti Veyron successor, seeing as how the Veyron was without a doubt the ultimate hypercar of its era.
Sure, some would argue in favor of a Koenigsegg or who knows what else, but if we’re talking about the complete package, the Veyron had it. You could conquer continents behind the wheel of one, and not get sore or tired. And when you opened the tap, the floods would come at a record-setting pace.
Then came the Chiron, and as soon as we saw the specs (not to mention the design), we knew it would eclipse the Veyron in pretty much every department. Comparing the two is like comparing Reggie Miller and Steph Curry. The former was great, but Steph took basketball to a whole new level with his style and his incredible shot-making prowess from beyond the arc.
Two years after unveiling the Chiron, Bugatti introduced the world to the Chiron Sport, a more track-focused variant, and lighter on its feet by about 40 lbs. It also featured a more unrestricted exhaust system, more carbon fiber, a stiffer suspension, a torque vectoring system, and slightly altered steering to account for the improved handling performance.
These cost an extra $400,000 over the regular Chiron, and Bugatti only made 60 units in total. Is it the ultimate Chiron? No, not exactly. You’ve still got the Pur Sport and the Super Sport, but it’s gorgeous, it’s rare enough, and it should still go up in value over time, making your ownership experience all the more special.

The car just exchanged hands for $3,495,000 recently, and some might call that a steal, especially when you account for the specifications. Highlights include the staggered width Nocturne Course wheels, with polished aluminum accents and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. Then you’ve got the Granade red titanium calipers hugging the carbon-ceramic rotors. If there’s one thing this Chiron needs, it’s stopping power.

Meanwhile, the interior comes with Beluga Black carbon-fiber Comfort seats, Hot Spur contrast stitching, matching leather upholstery (dashboard, center console, headliner, rear bulkhead, door panels), polished aluminum trim, automatic climate control, sat-nav, a flat-bottom steering wheel with carbon fiber trim, and a seven-speaker Accuton stereo.
As for the engine, it needs no introduction, but we’ll recap the stats anyway. We’re dealing with an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 monster, producing 1,479 horsepower. In a straight line, this car will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.3 seconds, before maxing out at 261 mph.
