Tesla Model 3 Gets Built in Under 6 Minutes, It Is Entirely Made of Wood

A six-minute video shows the process of crafting the Tesla Model 3 compact sedan that you can park on a shelf in your home and look at. If you have a Model 3 in your driveway, even better.

Of course, the footage reveals just parts of the actual work. In reality, the Vietnamese artist who owns the Woodworking Art YouTube channel needs a few days to complete the scaled-down model, depending on the size and the complexity of the project he takes on.

Everything begins with drawing the necessary shapes and cutting them off from a plain block of wood. Then the artist starts chiseling around to get the exact pattern that he needs before he starts the actual build.

Body panels come out of his hands one by one, and he puts them together. The model looks rough at first and does not resemble much with the real deal. But wait! There are still layers of wood that must come off.

The windows are also made of wood, but painted in a darker color, and so are the door handles. He carves out the wheels and patiently makes the spokes and the tires, paying a lot of attention to every single crease of the wood part that is supposed to imitate the rubber.

The artist uses bolts and springs to install the axles of the car. The first test that he carries out is to see if the wheels spin properly. And they do.

The windshield is darkened and varnished, the wipers look every inch real as well, and the taillights are also wood, butpainted red. He puts in the carefully carved seats and the dashboard that has everything a real one has. He closes the lid and the doors, mounts the mirrors on the sides of the car, and here it is. A Tesla Model 3 made entirely of wood.

This Model 3 is one of the many impressive projects the Vietnamese artist has made over the years. But one of his most spectacular yet is a wooden Audi Skyphere that he built for his daughter’s first birthday. Not your usual toy car present, isn’t it?

Completed in December 2022 and built out of a discarded tree in the artist’s garden, the wooden model was inspired by the actual concept car that the German carmaker had unveiled back in August 2021, at the Audi Design Studio in the heart of Malibu.

The wood replica took 75 days to complete, but it could run and drive pretty much like any normal car out there.
