The Tesla Cybertruck Is the Perfect Post-Apocalyptic Vehicle, Unless It Falls Apart First

Cybertruck owners are complaining about the poor build quality of Tesla's pickup truck. Elon Musk boasted that the Cybertruck was the best apocalypse vehicle. The cruel reality is that, for many owners, the Cybertrucks are falling apart.
Tesla was often criticized for its patchy build quality, although things appeared to have improved in the past few years. Those who took delivery of a Cybertruck in the early days noticed that the pickup had spotless build quality. It's no wonder, considering that most early units were assembled by hand and destined for Tesla executives and people close to Elon Musk circles.

However, as the production picked up pace at Giga Texas, people who received their Cybertruck more recently started complaining about build quality issues. Undoubtedly, the pressure to make as many units as possible in a short time took its toll. Unlike the software issues from the early days, the quality issues can't be fixed with an over-the-air update. They require a visit to a service center, parts, and time. It was hardly a great ownership experience.

Last week, we were shocked to learn what Lamar had to put up with after he took delivery of his Foundation Series Cybertruck. Two months into the ownership, Lamar had to visit a service center three times. He only drove it for about two weeks combined, with the pickup truck stuck in the repair shop for the rest of the time. From charging issues to weird error codes popping up in the center display, Lamar was soon so disappointed that he evoked the Lemon Law.

Sadly, Lamar is not the only Cybertruck owner who wished they never bought Tesla's electric pickup truck. The so-called "Apocalypse vehicle" suffers from many problems, making it unlikely to protect your family when push comes to shove. Most recently, people complained about loose fasteners and "disappearing" body parts as they fell off while driving.

One Cybertruck owner shared a picture of a missing protection panel in the bed. Jon Erskine posted in the Tesla CyberTruck Facebook group that the panel blew off while driving on the highway four days after delivery. According to another guy, this was the third Cybertruck owner complaining of similar problems. Weirdly, another Cybertruck owner demonstrated that removing the same panel is difficult unless several fastening clips were missing from the factory.

One day after this post, one Cybertruck owner shared a video of another body part flopping around in the wind. The Cybertruck might be made of hard, cold-rolled steel, but it sure looks incredibly fragile in the video. The front roof line cover peeled away after a bolt came loose while driving. Other Cybertruck owners have reported similar issues, which seem widespread. This indicates that the workers on the production line must've forgotten to tighten the bolt.

If you're wondering what else they might have forgotten, Kyle Conner from Out of Spec Studios has your answer. He discovered that one of the lug nuts fell off inside the aero wheel cover, making strange noises while driving. Upon checking, Kyle found out that the other nuts were also loose. This appears to be a common issue with the Cybertruck, as others have encountered it too.
