While the owners of these two Chevrolet Camaros with matching silver paint jobs didn’t agree in advance upon the color, they did form a drag racing team that has another thing in common besides the car model. That would be the manual transmissions they rock inside the cockpits...
Drag racing with three pedals and a stick shifter is never the most elegant, nor the cleanest, and not even the quickestway of doing this. But it’s sure to bring a smile on everyone’s face – from the driver to the crowds of spectators.
Now, the Moore HP team – consisting of a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and a fourth-generation F-Body successor – certainly knows how to put on a good show, even if they’re not always taking the victory crown (well, one of them did, more on that in a moment).
They’re bringing everything at the drag strip – from the subtle stick shift wheelie when changing gears, to flame-throwing in the middle of the night before setting off the line, among others. Not to mention the kind of sound that’s a sweet tune of nerve-racking “is the world coming to an end every time I change gears” sound levels...
After a quick explanation of the setups (the ‘69 Camaro is a dad-son build), the 1320video YouTube channel takes us to the night action – where the older Camaro doesn’t fare very well (see it from the 5:40 mark) because although it exited the line very quickly, it lacks the needed top speed to maintain its lead.
No worries, because the F-Body Camaro reclaims the honor for the silver pair, putting on its own show and also reaching the event finals... where it does its thing in an exciting stick shift manner. Yeah, complete with its own flame throwing and all!
