Tiny houses have emerged as a creative solution to the current housing crisis, but they also represent a great way for people to embrace a simpler way of life governed by more freedom and a deeper connection with nature.
The single-level Denman tiny house on wheels is the embodiment of minimalism and simplicity, offering everything one needs for a comfortable life on the main floor. This is an "entry-level home with an entry-level price," as described by the builder, yet it doesn't disappoint in terms of style and amenities.

Tiny houses have evolved significantly in the last few years, and the industry has seen huge technological innovations, but no matter how diverse and advanced the designs get, some people who want to go tiny still prefer the idea of a one-story compact home with no lofts, because they dread the idea of having to climb up a ladder or staircase each night.

The Denman is designed for those folks who want to go back to the basics, cut their living costs, and increase personal freedom, all the while enjoying the comforts of a traditional home. Built by British Columbia-based company Rover Tiny Homes, this mobile dwelling is 30 feet (9.14 meters) long and 8.5 feet (2.6 meters) wide, with regular height ceilings, and is as elegant and graceful on the inside as it is on the outside.

Perched on a triple-axle trailer and built on a steel frame, this home is designed to be easy to transport and set up. It is clad in vinyl siding with an asphalt roof and boasts an all-white exterior with discreet black trim around the windows and the entrance door.

The 245-square-foot (22.8-square-meter) home features an open-plan layout with the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom all on the same level. While other tiny homes without lofts have a single area with multiple uses on the main floor and no delineation between living and sleeping spaces, the Denman model does offer some sense of privacy with a partition wall to the bedroom and a full door to the bathroom.

The interior walls and ceilings are all plywood, coupled with sheet vinyl flooring. The choice of materials has helped the company keep the cost of the house down while also adding warmth to the space and highlighting the idea of simplicity. Natural light streams through numerous windows throughout the house, and various wall art pieces create an inviting atmosphere.

As you step inside, you are welcome into a compact kitchen with wood countertops and flat-panel MDF cabinetry. Though it looks basic, the cooking space is fully functional, with a sink, an under-counter fridge, and a two-burner electric cooktop. There is plenty of counter space for meal prep, and three long, open shelves are a practical addition for extra storage space.

A full-height pantry with open cabinets sits opposite the kitchen and offers plenty of storage space for kitchenware and provisions.

There is a seamless transition to the adjacent living room, which exudes an air of clean elegance. It is surprisingly cozy and modern, furnished with a comfy sofa, an oval central table, and a side table. An area rug creates a focal point and ties the room together. A large window keeps the space bright and allows inhabitants to enjoy the surrounding views at the same time. For evening fun and entertainment, a TV could be mounted on the walls opposite the sofa.

Next to the lounge/living area is the open bedroom with a privacy wall that is characterized by the same contemporary, clean design as the rest of the house. It is spacious enough to accommodate two people in a full-size bed, and it also fits two nightstands, with plenty of space left to walk around the bed. Just like the living room, it features a large window that ensures brightness and proper ventilation.

Actually, this is one of the best aspects of this home's design. No matter what room you are in, it enchants you with beautiful views despite its compact size. This allows residents to establish a stronger connection to the natural surroundings, while also creating the illusion of a wider space.

At the opposite end of the house, you will find the bathroom of the Denman model. It is a full three-piece bathroom with a full-size fiberglass shower stall, a toilet, and a vanity sink with a large mirror above it.

Further enhancing the residents' comfort inside this home are an electric heating and A/C system, a 120V 30-Gal hot water tank, and LED lighting throughout.

Although it features a finish level that can rival the more luxurious models from Rover Tiny Homes, Denman's price starts at only CAD $99,900, which translates to US $75,300 at current exchange rates. Designed for nature and travel lovers, this tiny house on wheels can serve as either a full-time residence or a cozy, fully-equipped vacation rental.
