At first glance, the delicate and discrete Forsythia seems like a home that was built for fairies. It blends with its natural surroundings so well that it seems to have been there since the beginning of time. Still, as soon as you step inside, you'll be happy to find out that it's perfectly equipped for a comfortable lifestyle away from the crowded cities.
Forsythia is yet another gorgeous and unique design from one of the most impressive tiny house builders, Mobi House. This European brand brings to life some of the most beautiful homes on wheels, with a signature colorful look that's instantly recognizable and perfectly matching names inspired by nature. In Forsythia's case, you can't help but be drawn by the calm, harmonious pastel shade of green, which the builder describes as Pistachio green. You'll find it inside the home as well, as an accent color, in perfect balance with the predominantly white color and the other pastel shades of grey.

This one-bedroom home is a version of the builder's basic Mobi 04 model, sitting on a six-meter (19.6 feet) trailer that's 2.5 meters wide (8.2 feet) and under 3.5 meters tall (11.4 feet). Size-wise, the Mobi 04 is a medium platform, which means it's bigger than basic studios on wheels but smaller than homes with two loft bedrooms or a larger main floor area. Plus, the compact dimensions are an important factor given that Forsythia is equipped for off-grid living. This home is approved for the road and ready to settle in the middle of nature without having to depend on external sources.

Forsythia doesn't hold any surprises when it comes to the layout, which is a basic one with a compact loft bedroom accessible via ladder, a lounge area, a tiny kitchenette, and a separate bathroom. What makes it stand out is the gorgeous interior style in pastel shades, which exudes a calming, peaceful atmosphere while also ensuring the optic effect of more openness and brightness. This is truly a luminous and airy abode. The white shiplap walls remind us of traditional beach homes, while the extensive glazing is an unusual addition to a home this size.

Unlike other homes in the same category, Forsythia does more to invite the outdoors in. Right next to the side glass door, it boasts a huge picture window that almost creates the illusion of an entire glass wall. The visual effect is that of a much wider living space that overflows into the outdoors. Smaller windows are also strategically placed throughout, such as the ones at the end of the house, which bring extra brightness to the lounge area, or the tiny ones in the kitchen, which also ensure proper air circulation.

In a small dwelling such as this one, it's important to select the right type of furniture. Mobi House is an expert when it comes to that, and it manufactures several types of modular furniture. For instance, what you see in Forsythia's lounge is a pivoting table called the Mobi Lagun Table – a practical item that takes up as little space as possible while doubling as a coffee table and a quick dining solution. The grey sofa also offers added functionality due to its spacious drawers for hidden storage.

The kitchen doesn't offer too much countertop space, but it's packed with all the main appliances, including a flameless gas hob and a gas fridge. It also focuses on storage, which is one of the main challenges with smaller living spaces. A large overhead shelf provides easy-to-reach storage with both open and soft-close drawers. The space between the kitchen and the bathroom was cleverly used to add large, multi-functional closets on each side.

The sliding door in the same Pistachio color as the exterior is not only functional but also has a beautiful visual effect, like a fresh splash of color. Don't expect a spa-like setting – the bathroom is compact and simple, fitted with a basic shower, a slim vanity, and a composting toilet.

A simple ladder, which can be conveniently stored on the wall so that it doesn't get in the way, leads to Forsythia's only bedroom. It's the classic loft layout with the added luxuries of plush grey carpeting and two windows on one side. The wooden open-work rail acts as a protection wall without obstructing the view completely.

Despite Forsythia's delicate and dreamy décor in pastel shades, it's also rugged enough to handle a fully off-grid lifestyle. It's packed with all the systems and features that allow it not to require any external connections. In addition to the photovoltaic panels and gas-based heating, it comes with special tanks for clean and grey water, plus a composting toilet. In other words, Forsythia is the perfect abode for those who want to maximize their freedom and connect more with the outdoors.
