The total GTO convertible production in 1969 included 7,436 units, with the Judge accounting for only 108 units. While the Judge was by far the model everybody was drooling over, the regular GTO convertible was still incredibly intriguing.
And the production numbers show that finding certain configurations today is an impossible mission. For example, Pontiac produced only 14 GTOs with the 400 Ram Air IV and an automatic transmission configuration. Only 45 GTOs used the same engine and a manual gearbox, of which four were Judges.

Getting a convertible in 1969 was pricey. The GTO carried a price tag of $2,831 for the hardtop, but the convertible was significantly more expensive at $3,382. The Judge increased the price substantially, with the hardtop costing $3,141. A convertible Judge could be had for no more, no less than $4,212.

The GTO in these photos looks good for its age, coming with the correct WT engine producing 350 horsepower.

However, what sets this convertible apart from the rest of the crowd is how rare it is. Truth be told, it's not the rarest 1969 GTO convertible, considering Pontiac produced 2,415 examples, but it's unknown how many are still around today. It uses a manual transmission, and a video published by eBay seller BAGGYPANTSDEVIL COLLECTIBLES shows the engine starting and running beautifully.

Carrying the desirable 242 VIN code, this Goat rolled off the assembly lines painted in Liberty Blue, and the owner says both the body and the top were redone years ago. It's unclear how original this GTO continues to be today, but it ships with several new parts, including side view mirrors, new floor mats, a trunk kit, and a top cover. It also comes with aftermarket upgrades, as the owner says the convertible does have a tachometer but an aftermarket gauge.

This GTO convertible doesn't seem to need more than a minor overhaul to return to the road in perfect shape, but it's unclear if restoring it to factory specifications is as convenient as it looks at first glance. The owner says you'll spend most of your time working on the body and the paint; otherwise, the GTO is almost ready for the road.

The selling price makes sense for a GTO convertible produced in 1969, though it'll be interesting to see how fast it finds a new home. The owner expects to get $36,700, but they also enabled the Make Offer button. The car is parked in Sterling, Connecticut, and eBay's statistics indicate that 61 people are already watching the listing.

The GTO will leave eBay in approximately 26 days, so you have enough time to go see the car in person if you believe a 1969 convertible deserves a place in your garage.
