Pontiac produced 3,783 GTO convertibles in 1970, and the Judge accounted for only 162 examples. While the Judge was no longer as successful as in 1969, it's unknown how many 1970 model year examples are still around today.
The easiest to find should be the convertible fitted with the standard 400 V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission, as Pontiac produced 2,173 units. The same configuration but fitted with a manual unit accounted for 887 units.

The rarest GTO convertible in 1970 was the 400 Ram Air IV and with an automatic transmission, as Pontiac produced only 13 examples in this configuration.

The 1970 GTO convertible in these pictures has recently been pulled from where it's been sitting since 1983. Naturally, a car sitting for so long comes with massive rust problems, but the metal damage won't be a problem on this GTO.

eBay seller We Work U Sell says the car was parked in storage 41 years ago, and the reading on the odometer proves this GTO never spent much time on the road. The car comes with 15,873 miles on the title, and the owner explains that the only rust panel is the trunk lid.

The reason for the metal damage makes sense. The car slept under several pipes, and the condensation that formed on these pipes ended up on the trunk lid.

Otherwise, everything on this Pontiac GTO seems to pave the way for a complete restoration. However, the most intriguing part is how rare this GTO could be, as the owner says the car might be "1 of 1" in this color with options. The vehicle rolled off the assembly lines wearing the Verdoro Green finish, though it was painted black at some point. While I couldn't find specifics on GTO color production, I never found a convertible in this shade of green. It's why the seller claims their car might be a rare example, especially in the convertible body style.

Unfortunately, the 400 4-barrel V8 engine paired with a 3-speed transmission is no longer in the car. The GTO likely donated the powertrain to another project.

The owner says their father built special stands to support the convertible and prevent bending or other body issues. The car was recently placed on wheels specifically to prepare it for a new owner.

This GTO convertible won't sell cheaply, though the Internet will decide its cost. The digital fight started a few days ago but is almost over, with the only offer giving the owner the chance to let this GTO go for $12,000. The auction will end in a few hours, and considering it comes without a reserve, the single bid is enough to give hope that this GTO will once return to the road.
