Theon Design restomodded a 1992 964 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 and called it the GBR002. Everything about it is just as the British customer who commissioned it requested.
The model wears the Oak Green Metallic with dark 'ghost' stripes and warm satin chrome brightwork, covering a full carbon body. It rides on matching 18-inch Fuchs-style wheels.
There is Theon Design's latest aluminum upgrade interior package equipping the car. It includes the so-called “touch points,” such as the interior door handles, fuel cap, and hood pull, but also the knobs and gauge rings.
Muslin leather wraps the Recaro CS seats at the front and Theon touring seats in the rear in combination with woven Alcantara sections, and there are green stripes matching the exterior. Modern features showed up on board, such as the stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, linked to a six-speaker Focal audio system. Meanwhile, a center console extension serves as a wireless phone charger. The driver will be in full control handling the new Nardi “deep dish” steering wheel.
A 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six sets it in motion with 406 horsepower (412 metric horsepower) and 326 lb-ft (442 Nm) of torque, linked to a new Hewland six-speed transmission and a Wavetrac Torsen limited slip differential. The figures that make it Theon’s most powerful engine to date. A new ignition system adds a power increase of 5 percent. Bespoke throttle bodies coming from British specialists Jenvey also improve performance.
But there was a long way to what we have in front of our eyes right now. The donor car, a 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 was stripped down to bare metal before the restoration started.

Pretty much everything about the body of the car was replaced with carbon panels, except for the doors, which remained steel for side impact protection. With all the light materials on it, the GBR00 now weighs just 2,557 pounds (1,169 kilograms). It is also stiffer, with a lightweight Mil-Spec wiring harness integrated into the strengthened body shell.
To stop the car that now features extra oomph, Theon Design fitted a full RS brake package. The model is also equipped with a switchable, five-stage TracTive Active Controlled Electronics (ACE) damping system. Theon Design took countless hours and test miles to calibrate it properly.
The car also received modern dual air-conditioning compressors, while the all-new electric-power steering pump was transferred to the front of the car, as low as possible, for optimized weight distribution.
The restomodded Porsche 911 Carrera 2 now called GBR002 comes just a month after Theo Design introduced the GBR001. The UK-based company's co-founder Adam Hawley claims that the 002 is “more focused, more powerful, more planted, and more 911.”
Prices for such a car start at 380,000 pounds, the equivalent of $482,507, at the current exchange rates. The donor car, shipping costs, and local taxes are not included. Whoever wants a GBR002 will have to wait for 18 months to receive it.
