I'm sure you've figured out by now that very few superyacht concepts ever make it into the real thing. Well, here's to Numarine's 40MXP, a concept that's currently available through one of the world's most acclaimed broker firms, Northrop & Johnson. Time to explore why and how the brokering of something nonexistent can take place.
Folks, back in 1949, the name Northrop & Johnson (N&J would appear on the global yachting scene. Since then, this brokerage house has done nothing but middleman some of the largest boat, yacht, and superyacht acquisitions to ever grace the Earth.

These days, they're known as one of the go-to crews anytime someone's looking to sell, buy, and even charter a floating palace. So, the moment a crew such as this takes it upon themselves to broker a concept that's only been seen as a model, at best, you can trust that what you're buying will be delivered in the manner that you were led to believe.

All that leads us to 2003, when the boating world would once again be influenced and left in awe. It was during this year that the name Numarine would appear on the market with their proverbial "head-turner," the 52 Open. In the words of countless news outlets over the ages, it is the embodiment of "comfort, luxury, and elegance."

As years passed, trust in the brand started to snowball, and every year, Numarine seemed to be pushing out larger and bolder designs until, well, we arrived at the 40MXP. But before I go on, allow me to point out that all we currently have to show for this creation are some renderings. After all, delivery for this beast is expected to happen in 2026.

Also, there are no images of the interior since there's no buyer to dictate what he or she would like. Even if there was, such projects rarely allow the average Joe a peak inside. All we have to give us an idea of the 40MXP's interior are some ideation floorplans and what the builders feel is best for the ship.

Now, the 40MXP gets its name from its length, nearly 40 m (131 ft) from tip to tail, and while that may not sound like the biggest superyacht around, it can still fit 14 guests and cruise for a whopping 6,000 nautical miles and, above all, furnishes all the luxuries that the rich, famous, and heavenly endowed could ever ask for.

Overall, this vessel is spread out over four decks, and in traditional superyacht style, the upper level is reserved for the flybridge. It's here that guests will be able to kick back, have a drink, mingle, and even take a moment in the jacuzzi. By the looks of it, this deck is also covered in a bimini with solar panels on it. This is where you want to be seen as you roll into port.

The next deck down is the upper deck, and it's here that the future owner of the 40MXP will be living it up in an aft-facing bedroom fit with his and her bathrooms. Toward the front of this deck, the captain's quarters are nearby because this is also the wheelhouse deck. One aspect that I enjoy about this deck is the massive aft space, suitable for parties and whatever else you have in mind, even shuffleboard.

What's neat about this deck is that Numarine has designed it with a toy crane in mind. It's here that you'll be able to bring along a 9 m (29.5 ft) RIB tender and two jet skis "with ease," as Northrop & Johnson tells us. as long as the vehicle you want to access is under 3 tons (crane weight limit), you're good to go.

As we make our journey to the lower decks, the first space we'll encounter is the main deck. As the name would insinuate, this is where all the daily activities will be unfurling. At the very bow of this deck, a VIP room is in place with a beam-to-beam spread, and as we head toward aft, we'll pass a stairway that leads to the upper or lower decks, and finally, we arrive at the massive main lounge.

This is the place where you'll be hanging out entertaining guests, having dinner in a safe and enclosed space, or just playing the piano. It's up to you what you do with this space. If it's outdoor activities you want, an alfresco dining table is in place, and beyond that, some outdoor lounging pads sit in the background of a beach club pool. As for the lowest deck, it's where guests will go to lay their heads, but it's also where this vessel's engines are found.

Now, this brings me to the next aspect of the 40MXP. Numarine has paid special attention to ensure that guests are comfortable and undisturbed. To achieve this, not only will you find impeccable cabins, but noise levels in guest rooms will fall below 40 dB at all times.

What's there to do now? Well, if you like what you see and have the crypto to pay for something like this, all you've got to do is get ahold of N&J and take things from there. Go ahead; ask all the questions, bring your lifestyle input and dreams, and hang on tight for the next couple of years.
