An imposing hull that commands attention, the ability to blend with the surroundings, unique and intriguing features, sophisticated modern interiors, and unparalleled technical prowess are some of the elements that make a superyacht truly iconic. It's hard for a recreational watercraft to encompass them all, but some shipbuilders do manage to create magnificent vessels that come near perfection.
Abeking & Rasmussen is one of them. The renowned German shipbuilder has just announced the delivery of their latest project - the magnificent superyacht Liva. Measuring a staggering 118 meters (388 feet) in length, this is the largest luxury superyacht ever built by the company and comes with various impressive features, such as a Triton Submersible, a Neptune lounge with a semi-submerged window, a helipad, and a mobile 40-foot (12-meter) marble-clad pool.

With a history spanning over 115 years, Abeking & Rasmussen has always been at the forefront of yacht design. Their latest vessel, formerly known as Project Celerius, was designed in collaboration with Paris-based Joseph Dirand Architecture and is proof of the company's expertise in shipbuilding.

"The delivery of this magnificent superyacht marks a defining moment for our company, and I can confidently say: we have once again succeeded in building an exceptional yacht," said Matthias Hellmann, CEO at Abeking & Rasmussen. "By upholding our values of innovation, quality, and client satisfaction, we have created a yacht that sets new industry standards and delights our discerning clientele."

French architect Joseph Dirand also speaks proudly of the vessel, saying that he wanted Liva to be "pure" and "contemporary" and to offer guests on board an immersive experience and a deep connection with the surrounding seascape.

The brand-new Liva superyacht boasts a sleek black hull with an imposing presence on the water. The exterior was carefully designed alongside Berlin-based company Photon to give the vessel an elegant, clean silhouette. To this aim, the shell plates have been laser welded, and the designers replaced the traditional anchor pockets with underwater anchors on the keel, which are more discreet and enhance the yacht's efficiency and maneuverability.

One of the standout features of this stunning watercraft is the Neptune Lounge with a massive 3.40m x 1.30m (11.1ft x 4.2ft) semi-submerged window. Guests can bask in the luxurious comfort of the lounge and take in the breathtaking underwater views at the same time.

A 40-foot (12-meter) mobile swimming pool on the aft deck is another highlight. It is luxuriously enveloped in marble and has a raisable floor that can be elevated to the upper level. When raised, it can be covered by a sheet of liquid marble that mimics the sea's surface.

Liva also features a crow's nest at the foot of the mast, allowing for a wide field of view. The list of impressive amenities continues with a helipad on the sky deck and a luxe alfresco lounge with a circular sofa and a marble-clad firepit on the sundeck. Moreover, the generous interior includes lavish cabins for up to twelve guests and 33 crew members.

For a fully immersive yachting experience, Liva also offers guests the opportunity to have fun on the water. As such, it has not one but two tender garages that accommodate a full arsenal of vessels. There is a lower deck garage that houses a 52-foot (16-meter) day boat and a larger main deck garage that can hold three boats, a Triton submersible for seven passengers, bicycles, dive equipment, and other water toys.

In terms of grunt, Liva is a hybrid superyacht equipped with a sophisticated diesel-electric propulsion system, designed for exceptionally quiet operation. Said system comprises two 2200 kW electric propulsion motors from RAMME Electric Machines GmbH. Two 2240 kW Caterpillar main generators and three 599 kW Caterpillar auxiliary generators ensure a steady supply of electrical power. The setup endows the yacht with a top speed of 18 knots and a range of 7,100 nautical miles (13,150 km) at 15 knots.

The groundbreaking Liva superyacht marks a significant milestone for Abeking & Rasmussen and reconfirms the shipbuilder's commitment to crafting some of the most spectacular yachts on the planet.
