The Turkish shipbuilding industry has a strong presence in the global market, and local companies leverage both the traditional shipbuilding skills inherited from the Ottoman Empire and modern techniques and technologies to compete with international rivals in terms of quality and performance.
The industry in the country has developed rapidly in a short time period, as its reputation as a respected trademark on the international scene has only grown since the 1990s. According to recent reports, it is now the fifth largest shipbuilding industry in the world, and it's constantly evolving, with Tuzla and Yalova being the most important Turkish destinations when it comes to shipyards.

Today, we are going to look at a new player on the Turkish shipbuilding scene - the Orion Yachts manufacturer, which is based in Yalova and specializes in building and delivering luxury bespoke vessels. The brand is the superyacht branch of Hersek Gemi, and their very first project is called Orion One.

The freshly-revealed renderings for the new motor yacht showcase a 141-foot (43-meter) watercraft whole design harmoniously blends timeless elegance with modern aesthetics.

Construction of the new project started in 2022, and the yard has collaborated with Red Yacht Design on the interior and exterior design, while Alfa Marine Engineering took care of naval architecture.

Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, Orion One is meant for clients who seek adventure and exploration in luxury and comfort. It boasts sleek and stylish exterior lines with an elegant flared bow, cascading aft decks, and expansive glazing, complemented by lavish interiors with a sophisticated, contemporary style.

With an overall length of 141 feet (43 meters), a beam of nearly 27 feet (8.1 meters), and an 8.2-foot (2.5-meter) beam, the vessel has an imposing profile on the water and offers a generous 480 GT interior volume for the owner and their guests to enjoy.

Exuding strength and elegance, the Orion One yacht is an appealing prospect for both first-time owners and experienced yachtsmen, providing an abundance of luxurious amenities and promising an authentic yachting experience.

A generous and lavish master suite will offer the owner unparalleled comfort and privacy, while four additional guest staterooms will ensure people onboard enjoy the same level of comfort while at sea. The interior layout is well-thought-out, with the cabins arranged in such a way as to make Orion One suitable for use as a private charter yacht.

An abundance of al-fresco areas allows guests to experience life at sea at its finest, while the use of generous lines of glazing creates a seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces and marvelous views of the surroundings.

Standout features when it comes to open-air spaces on Orion One include a foredeck sunpad area, a Portuguese bridge, and the skylounge that provides an elevated experience and uninterrupted views of the seascape for those onboard. However, the cherry on top of this project is the sundeck with a unique waterfall installation that feeds water into a dip pool.

There aren't too many details available regarding propulsion and performance, but we do know the yacht is envisioned with two CAT C32 1450 hp engines.

As the first yacht design signed by the new Turkish shipyard, Orion One marks an important milestone in its journey. It is scheduled for delivery in 2024, and we cannot wait to see what other projects the yard comes up with.
