The Loretta Anne superyacht is as majestic as its name. Built for a billionaire businesswoman and heiress of a communications empire in Canada, this gorgeous pleasure craft built in New Zealand remained secretive for more than a decade. After its owner passed away, Loretta Anne recently emerged on the luxury market for the first time – a unique opportunity and a timeless creation.
Far from the infamous superyachts with a troubled history and complicated connections, this stunning Kiwi masterpiece enjoyed a life as tranquil and serene as its silhouette. For more than ten years, it was used only privately and never chartered. More importantly, it never changed hands. Owned by the woman with the same name since the day it was launched until she passed away, Loretta Anne stayed in excellent shape and also stayed away from prying eyes.

This year, the public got the chance to take a closer look at this beautiful vessel for the first time. And there's plenty to see. This 2012 Alloy Yachts model maintains its status as one of the most beautiful luxury yachts ever created.

The New Zealand-based shipyard delivered Loretta Anne in 2012. It was the 12th motor yacht built by Allow Yachts, a builder known primarily for sailing boats. It was also the 22nd Dubois design and the fifth born out of a highly successful partnership between Dubois and the Kiwi shipyard.

Dubois had designed two more luxury boats with the same name for a Canadian billionaire with a deep love for yachting. Loretta Rogers was married to Ted Rogers, known as the founder of Rogers Communications, which became a true media empire in Canada. Loretta Ann was a successful businesswoman herself and a renowned philanthropist.

On a personal level, Loretta Ann was described by her family as a "perpetual sun-seeker" and water lover who enjoyed traveling and snorkeling in the Bahamas. The former marketing director at Alloy Yachts, Linda Berry, also described her as "one of the most down-to-earth superyacht owners" she’d ever met, which says a lot. Fortunately, unlike other billionaires, Loretta got to enjoy what would be her final superyacht for a long time before passing away in 2022 at age 83.

The third yacht named after her quickly became a recognized winner. In 2014, it received the "Motor Yacht of the Year" award at the highly-prestigious World Superyachts Awards and other victories. It was also honored for its exquisite exterior design and styling by the coveted Show Boat Design Award.

Ed Dubois, the well-known British naval architect, endowed Loretta Anne with some unique features. The 47-meter (156 feet) yacht sporting a noble navy blue hull with dynamic lines revealed two-and-a-half decks instead of three, an oversized flybridge, and a galley sitting on the main deck.

Dubois explained that this particular layout gave the yacht "a pleasing streamlined appearance." The vertical bridge screen gave an edgy touch, while the unusually large flybridge acted as a winter garden, with surrounding windows that could be lifted or lowered completely.

Donald Starkey perfectly matched this unique structure with a gorgeous, subtly-retro interior style. Walking onboard Loretta Anne, you'd be enchanted by the unusual contrast between the glossy wood furniture in deep shades of caramel and the colorful, vivid artwork depicting marine life. It's classically elegant and surprisingly playful at the same time.

The huge main salon reveals twin coffee tables surrounded by ultra-cozy sofas, a stylish bar, and a separate area for formal dining with ample seating. Horizontal windows all around offer beautiful panoramic views, while keeping this large surface flooded with natural light. Spacious and airy, this salon is also ideal for onboard parties when the weather isn't right for outdoor fun.

The master suite is as elegant as you'd expect, considering the original owner. A generous walk-in wardrobe is accompanied by lots of bookshelves and a sophisticated private office, adding a classic vibe to this otherwise modern sleeping area.

The lower deck houses two VIP rooms and two twin cabins, all fitted with large wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms. The fully-equipped gym, one of Loretta Anne's contemporary features, can also be converted into an additional guest room. Shell mosaic inlays, custom carpets, and ocean-inspired artwork throughout highlight the yacht's sophisticated interior style.

This Alloy pleasure craft can accommodate up to 11 guests plus a generous eight-member crew, including the captain. Comfy sunpads, a large jacuzzi, and a spacious open-air lounge sit on the flybridge deck. A beautiful al-fresco dining set-up welcomes guests on the main deck aft.

Despite its gracious, elegant appearance, Loretta Anne is a power yacht at heart. Twin Caterpillar engines propel it at more than 16 knots (18.4 mph/29.6 kph). Advanced stabilizers ensure a smooth ride even during long voyages when this Alloy yacht comfortably covers up to 3,700 nautical miles (6,850 km). Plus, it was specifically designed with a shallow draft allowing it to easily access places like Belize and the Bahamas.

After staying away from the spotlight for more than ten years, the gorgeous Loretta Anne is ready to show its beauty to the world. The Kiwi superyacht designed for a billionaire heiress is up for grabs, asking for $17.9 million. Whoever grabs it will become the lucky owner of an award-winning luxury vessel, one of the most beautiful designs we can admire today.
