"A modern gentleman's yacht" and "A Grand Tourismo for the Seven Seas" are just some of the metaphors used to describe a unique launch in the world of luxury superyachts, and they're not just big words. The Dynamiq GTT 115 didn't just look like a Porsche on water, it moved like one. To this day, it's one of the finest car/yacht mash-ups ever brought to life.
At the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show, visitors could admire two stunning, masculine-looking yachts from the same builder, anchored close to each other. One was the 39-meter (128 feet) Jetsetter, the first yacht launched by Dynamiq Yachts, and the other was the 35-meter (115 feet) GTT 115, a limited-edition bespoke creation designed by Studio F.A. Porsche.

Sitting proudly right in front of the famous Monaco Yacht Club, the GTT 115 flaunted its incredible sports car-inspired silhouette and aesthetics. Introduced as the first of only seven such yachts, the limited-edition gem asked for €13.9 million ($15 million) at the time. Dynamiq Yachts, the young builder that was conveniently headquartered in Monaco, also offered VIP guests a dedicated tender that would take them from one superyacht to another.

Dynamiq was founded by Sergei Dobroserdov, whose name was linked to the Dobroserdov design studio and Nakhimov Yachts. Russian mogul Valentin Zavadnikov was one of the main investors in the new brand, and he was rumored to have become the owner of its first launch, Jetsetter. Zavadnikov, a passionate sailor and serial yacht owner, had worked with the Dobroserdov studio on one of his famous yachts, the Admiral Quinta Essentia.

Dynamiq's founder and CEO specifically chose Studio F.A. Porsche because he wanted a yacht that would match the sports car-inspired aesthetics with high-level performance. The brief was challenging, asking for "an extreme high-performance yacht for crossing the Atlantic." The result was beyond expectations. Built-in Italy, the limited-edition Dynamiq benefitted from the acclaimed Northern European naval architecture and went on to fetch several awards.

The GTT 115 is an all-aluminum yacht with hybrid propulsion, transatlantic range, and accommodation for up to six guests. The Porsche DNA is noticeable in every detail, both on the outside and on the inside. The curved, fluid silhouette, coupled with the eye-catching Rhodium Grey metallic paint, brings to mind the Porsche 911.

The hardtop took inspiration from the Targa's rollbar. The cleat on which the yacht is moored resembles a Porsche taillight. These are just some of the subtle yet well-defined details creating a seamless connection between automotive design and the yacht's exterior styling.

Inside, this connection is deepened. Aluminum and wooden slats in the cabins are directly derived from Mission E's dashboard. The indirect LED lighting is reminiscent of car headliners. Leather in shades of cream and brown and the Alcantara fabric have the same effect. Just like the GTT 115 flaunts its hull number on the outside (1 of 7), each cabin features a number on the door that glows in the dark – another unexpected racing-inspired detail.

The yacht's interior is a black-and-grey interplay with brown and cream accents, creating a masculine, sporty vibe. Precious ebony with a black grain and golden accents, Sahara noir marble, and natural wood add a highly luxurious touch throughout. Even the stairs leading to the cabins are covered in brown leather. The Pepita Houndstooth carpet pattern is another distinctive touch that adds character, inspired by the fabrics used for the 991 R edition.

Dynamiq's masterpiece is a gentlemen's yacht not only due to its masculine style but also thanks to the lavish amenities. The stunning main salon boasts custom-made furniture and a huge dining table that can seat eight.

Like the classic gentlemen's yachts, the GTT 115 comes with an old-school humidor and a wine fridge. Its sprawling sundeck is much larger than what you'd find on yachts in the same size category. The generous space houses a large jacuzzi, a lounge area, and a modern bar with all kinds of luxury features, including a BBQ and an ice maker.

Its exceptional performance makes the GTT 115 stand out among all automotive-inspired pleasure craft. This sports car on the water has it all, from high-speed cruising at more than 21 knots (24 mph/39 kph) and a transatlantic range of more than 3,400 nautical miles (6,300 km) to top-notch fuel efficiency (52 liters/hour at 9 knots).

It combines a hybrid propulsion system with an optimized hull form and an exclusive stabilization system with four fins and interceptors. The Dutch naval architects at Vripack supplied their acclaimed fast-displacement hull design, which enables greater speed despite the overall size and volume.

They also carefully selected the most comfortable placement for the cabins, 10 to 20% aft of the midship. This was possible thanks to the podded hybrid power system. The split engine room places the main engines and pods aft, while the generators and energy management system are housed separately forward in the bow. The bespoke hybrid propulsion combines twin MAN engines and electric motors with three variable-speed generators, allowing the GTT 115 to cruise more efficiently and sustainably.

Since its official debut in 2017, the first unit in the limited-production GTT 115 series has never been available for charter, and its owner remains mysterious. Pricing for a newly built Dynamiq GTT 155 starts at €15 million ($16.4 million). Still, it won't have the exact customizations that made the first unit extra special. Only a Porsche connoisseur can truly appreciate the intricate details of this contemporary gentlemen's yacht, making it a truly collectible vessel.
