By today's standards, the second-generation Jeep Compass is old. It entered production in 2016 with a mid-cycle refresh received three years ago. But fret not because the Stellantis-owned brand is in the process of completely renewing it.
According to recent reports, the next-gen Jeep Compass is two years away from being introduced. The crossover should debut sometime in 2025 and will probably be a 2026 model by the time the first units cross the Atlantic Ocean from the Melfi factory in Italy, where it will be assembled.

Besides the next Jeep Compass, Stellantis will allegedly make other models at Melfi. These will reportedly include the upcoming DS 7, the new DS 9, the successor to the Opel Insignia, and the Lancia Aurelia. What do they have in common, you ask? Why, that would be the STLA Medium platform, which also underpins other models made under the automotive giant's roof.

This leads us to the next part of our story, which revolves around the powertrain lineup. Actually, make that the alleged powertrain lineup, as the architecture mentioned above is highly versatile and supports numerous assemblies. As a result, it is believed that the next-gen Jeep Compass will launch with internal combustion engines with self-charging capabilities, likely joined by a battery-electric derivative.

An obvious price bump is, thus, expected from the upcoming iteration. The current Compass is the second most affordable Jeep in the United States after the Renegade, and it starts at $28,400 in the entry-level flavor. The Renegade, on the other hand, kicks off at $28,345. All prices exclude the destination fee and dealer markups.

Now that we have gone through some of the potential novelties of the future Jeep Compass, it is time to cast the hypothetical light on its design. Mind you, it is possible that the styling hasn't been finalized yet, so you may want to take these cues with a pinch of salt.

Using the Lynk & Co 08 as a blank canvas and borrowing some traits from the current Compass and the Wagoneer, kdesignag set out to imagine what the next-gen Compass might look like. Overall, it is instantly recognizable as something made by Jeep, at least when it comes to the front end courtesy of the typical grille, and it does not look bad at all.

The digital artist went as far as rearranging some of the cabin's pixels to offer us an unofficial glimpse inside, and we certainly wouldn't be mad if the real thing resembles these renderings. The vehicle portrayed here is on the appealing side of the CGI realm, and we think you feel the same. But would you be interested in the 2026 Compass if it turns out to look similar to the one imagined here?
