Gran Turismo Sport is scheduled to receive a mysterious update later today, just after regular maintenance to the server is completed.
At least, that’s what an announcement in the game indicates, as players are told that a new game update would be released after the March 25 maintenance happening between 07:00-09:00 UTC.

At the following time, we will perform maintenance on the ‘Gran Turismo Sport’ servers. A new game update will also be available after the maintenance. Please note that during this time the online services, including [Sport Mode], will not be available,” the announcement reads.

No other specifics have been shared on what’s supposed to be included in this update, but of course, everybody hopes the update will bring something new, such as cars or circuits.

The last content update received the go-ahead back in November 2020, and Gran Turismo Sport players are hopeful this mysterious pack of improvement will include some goodies to keep the game fresh, especially as the next iteration will take longer than anticipated to hit the shelves.

As you may have heard, Gran Turismo 7 will no longer receive the go-ahead this year, as Sony has recently confirmed that the launch has been pushed back to 2022 due to problems caused by the global health issue.

A Sony representative explained that what he called “critical aspects of game production” have been substantially slowed down in the last months because of the madness still happening across the world. That left the company with no other option than to simply push the launch of Gran Turismo 7 from 2021 to 2022.

No further specifics have been provided, but the Sony official promised to share more information at a later time. Of course, nobody knows exactly when these tidbits are supposed to land, given we’re probably more than a year away from the moment the game is likely to be announced officially.
