As Chevrolet gets closer to introducing the C8 Corvette, the rendering realm becomes even more attracted to the topic, which means that pixel plays portraying the mid-engined 'Vette show up on a regular basis. Well, here we are, delivering the freshest one of the sort, which landed via Instagram.
The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette render sitting before us is based on the current car, so it might not be as accurate as this 360-degree view, which was based on spyshots.

Nevertheless, the new image helps us gets used to the idea of a Corvette that keeps its engine in the middle, this smoothing out the transition.

Speaking of which, whenever automakers come up with dramatic changes, which have the potential to alter a halo car's status, the engineers are asked to throw in plenty of extra performance. You know, to make sure the transformation is worth it and enthusiasts are won over.

And if you're looking for an example of such a move, a rival of the Corvette, namely the Porsche 911, provides a brilliant one - remember the noticeably sharper performance numbers associated with the 991.2 Neunelfer, which marked the turbo switch for the Carrer and GTS models?

Well, the wildest rumors out there talk about a hybridized range-topper, one that would see the C8 Chevrolet Corvette mixing twin-turbo V8 power with electric motivation for an output that could climb all the way to 1,000 ponies.

Regardless of the gas-electric gossip, that TT V8 power is expected to come from an all-new LT V8. Expected to be based on the twin-turbo 4.2-liter Cadillac Blackwing engine, the Chevy unit should see the displacement jumping to 5.5 liters.

Of course, there should also be a base version, which is expected to be motivated by an evolution of the C7 Corvette Stingray's 6.2-liter V8.

A manual transmission should be on the list, as hinted by GM filing a patent for an electric slave cylinder. Nevertheless, the circuit weapons should come with an optional dual-clutch transmission.

Chevrolet is expected to drop the C8 Corvette next year, with the supercar set to hit the market as a 2020 model.
